Ashton's POV

I've been watching her ever since the house fire. She has potential and I may need her. She's beautiful. She has long brown hair, blue eyes, and a compelling soul. She loves her music, misses her little brother, and wishes her family wouldn't have fallen apart. Kinda how I feel.

My name is Ashton Everwood. I used to have a little sister. She was so energetic and lovable. She was my everything, my hope, my light, my little angel. She's gone now... Her name was Amelia Everwood. My parents were devastated when she disappeared, but they didn't do anything about it. They just sat at home and cried. They didn't really love or care about her like I did. She was my everything and I had lost her. She ran away, left me a note and wished me luck. They never found her body but they pronounced her dead after three months of endless searching.

After that incident, I blamed my parents and confronted them:

I run into the room screaming and crying, "You let her run away! You are monsters! You don't love her, never did! You don't even care about her, never did! Stupid worthless pieces of shit! I hate you both! I HATE YOU, YA HEAR ME! I FUCKING HATE YOU BOTH!"  My dad ran over to me and slapped me silly. "Boy get ahold of yourself!" I decked him in the face and ran over to my mom. "Do you have anything to say for yourself? MOM ANSWER ME! ANSWER ME YOU WORTHLESS SLUT!" She started to sob and she begged for me to stop. "Ashton, stop. Stop. You don't know what you are doing..." I looked at her and shook my head, "No mom. I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm leaving." She shook her head and my dad tried to hold me back.

I pull my dad off of me and yell, "Goodbye mom and dad. I'm done with y'alls bullshit! D-O-N-E, done ya hear IM FUCKING DONE!" I run up to my room and pack my bag. My mom ran upstairs and put a locket in my hand, "My little soldier, I love you." She kissed my forhead and I hugged her. I put the locket in my pocket and jumped out of the window. I ran for four hours and made it to a town called Smallesville "Where you can start a new life..." Thats all I needed to read.

I have lived in Smallesville for two years and I love it here.

I roll up to Grandver High and see Brittany climbing out of a bathroom window. Skipping school, but that doesn't seem like her? Is it? I shake my head and stop my car. She looks around and then she sees me. She looks glued on my gaze. I start to walk over to her and she looks puzzled. I look at her and say, "Need a ride?" I hold her close to me. "I suggest you come with me Brittany. We have a lot to talk about." I pick her up and put her in my car.

"What's your name?" She turns to me.  "My name is Ashton. Now please let me drive Brittany. We have a four hour drive ahead of us." She turns away and leans the seat back. "Well Ashton, I am Brittany. Imma go to sleep." She faintly smiles and lays her head down. I chuckle and keep my eyes on the road, oh Brittany if only you knew...
