Hello everyone, and welcome to another new regular feature on Wattmag, titled 'Top Picks'. Every month, one of our writers will take control of this segment and talk to you guys about their favorite Wattpad books with a little introduction, and a list. To kick things off, I'm here with mine. Let me know if you've read any of these books before or are interested in checking them out!

Dorothy's Introduction: I know it's currently Summertime (for the Americans), so I wanted to include a few contemporary young adult reads that I love for those days where you just want to kick back and relax with a lighthearted novel. But as it's also Winter for some others (Straya! Woo!), I thought I'd also include some of my overall favorite Watty novels with a few funny titles if you're in need of a good laugh to warm up your cold, dead body. Sorry, I'm not a fan of the cold - can you tell? Anyway, check out my list below!

Vanilla by leigh_ - A cute read, beautifully written, and a summertime classic!

"Not just a flavour, but a way of life." When seventeen-year-old Flo Kennedy is forced to up sticks and trade her life in London for a sleepy seaside town on the south coast, she's anything but excited. Walden-on-Sea could win awards for being Britain's dullest town, and with a population consisting almost entirely of over sixties, teenagers are an endangered species. Silently struggling with her parents' death and separation from her sister, Flo's convinced she's in for the worst summer of her life. But when she meets the guy in the ice cream shop, things start to change. It's not long before she lands herself a job, a new set of friends and maybe even the beginnings of first romance. For the first time in several years, she's happy. But Flo knows all too well that things can't stay perfect forever, and after all, being on top of the world only gives you further to fall.

Trump Temptations: The Billionaire and The Bellboy by elijahdanielistrash - If you've got a lot of political angst, check this quick story out for guaranteed laughter. It also introduced me to Elijah, who I'm convinced is one of the funniest people in existence.

He was a billionaire, I was a bellboy, can I make it anymore obvious? It all started one fateful afternoon in summer of 2012. I was working as a bellboy at the Trump Hotel in Hong Kong on an internship program. This was my first time in a big city. It was all I could have ever dreamed of, and more. But little did I know, it was all about to change.
