Little Mary's sweet adventures Mary is going to school Part 1

It was a bright sunny morning. Little Mary Miller had woken up early today. Something was very special today. She tiptoed towards her parent's room and went to her Mommy

"Mommy wakeup it's my first day at school today. I have to take a shower, brush my teeth, then wear that new dress Daddy bought me, then have breakfast and then....." Mommy kissed her and hushed "Shhhh... Joshua is sleeping my dear" and then she said "Mary it's a little too early, but I know you are very excited for your first day at school so let's get started" and together they went into Mary's room. Mommy took out the new pink dress Daddy had bought for Mary. It was a very pretty one indeed and Mary knew she will look nice in that dress. As Mary rushed into the bathroom to get ready Mommy went into the kitchen to make breakfast.

Now Mary had taken her bath, brushed her teeth. She was wearing her new dress. She went downstairs into the kitchen for breakfast. Seeing her Daddy gave her a big hug "I am so excited for you little princess." They started their breakfast when Mary said "There is nothing to worry about I know my darling baby is going to make new friends in school. It is going to be fun. Just relax and don't worry" Mary smiled and finished her scrambled eggs. Just as Mary and Daddy were about to leave, little Joshua came in rubbing his eyes with one hand and holding his teddy in the other one. Mary couldn't go to school without giving a hug to her little brother. She promised him that she will come soon and they will play together afterwards. Mommy gave Mary her glasses they went.

On her way Mary kept on imagining how her first day at school would be. She was now quite nervous. On reaching the school Daddy came to drop off Mary to her class. As she was going towards her class across the hallway she could see all the classrooms and that so many children were there in this school. She thought to herself that school is like an office for kids and hoped it is fun. As her Daddy stopped in front of a classroom Mary knew it was her class. She tried to read what was written on the door. It was "Welcome to Montessori". A lady stepped out of the room and patted Mary on her head and said to her Daddy "Thank you Mr. Miller, I'll take it from here." Then Daddy kissed Mary and told her to enjoy her day. Mary was getting a little anxious now that her father was going away. With her cute goo goo eyes she said "Daddy I will miss you", daddy smiled and told her to be brave and that he will come soon to get her. Now her teacher, Miss Peggy held her hand and took her into the room. Inside the room there was a different world. So many kids. Mary could see some kids reading books in a corner, some were playing with puzzles, and some were playing dress up on the side of the room. Mary was a little relieved to see children of her age in her classroom. Miss Peggy introduced her to the class and then invited all other children to form a circle holding hands and then sit.

"Now children we are having circle time. Hmm... Today in circle time let's talk about ourselves. I will hand this marker to each student you have to pretend it is a mike and tell us about yourself. I'll go first" and the Miss Peggy gave her introduction "I am Peggy and I love..... Yes I love the rain." The children started giggling on hearing this. Then the boy next to Miss Peggy said "I am Mark, and I like ice creams". All the children went on to tell them about themselves one by one. No the mike was soon going to come to Mary. She was feeling shy to speak in front of other children. Then girl next to her said "I am Miranda and I like the rainbow. Alot" and passed the mike to Mary. Now Mary was in the spotlight. She could feel a sweat drop rolling down her cheek, she looked at Miss Peggy. She was smiling towards Mary. Mary gathered all her courage and said "I am Mary and I like to make new friends". Just as she said this everybody started clapping. Miss Peggy seemed very happy she said" very good Mary it is so you are getting along so well. Then she told all the children to get back to their seats as the next period was going to start. After being seated Miranda came to Mary and introduced her friend to her "Mary this is Olson and this is Kim. These are best friends. Would you like to sit with us in the blue team? She said yes. Mary was very happy as she had made friends the first day at school. She was anxious go home tell all about her day to her Mommy and little Joshua. She knew she was going to have a lot fun in her Montessori class the whole year.
