chapter 10

i was waiting for Annabeth to come back when i saw a chariot crash land in the lake. i ran to the bathrooms for some towels, when i came back there was five people shivering including Annabeth on the shore.

"Annabeth was he there?" i asked her

she looked up at me and i gasped she had a broken look in her eyes there were tears starting to weld up in the corners of her eyes. "no Lily, he wasn't" she told me

i put my arm around her shoulders and helped her up. " come on Annabeth, let's go get you changed" as we walked to the Athena cabin i told her a story i had once read. it was about how Zeus had originally created humans with four arms, four legs, and two heads. and how somewhere along the was the humans had ruined it, so Zeus split them in two as punishment. i also told her that because of Zeus splitting us in two our bodies and souls were always searching for our other half. after i had told her the story i said to her " Percy will find you because he's your soul mate don't give up hope"

" i won't" she said " tomorrow i'll go back out and search for him"

neither one of us noticed that two of the campers had been claimed
