"JESS!! Lets go! We are going to be late for the cook-out!" her step-mom screamed from the bottom of the stairs.
"IT DOESN'T START UNTIL THREE! IT'S ONLY ONE-THIRTY!" Jess screamed back.
"We have to pick up a few things!"
"Why didn't you pick it up when we had time! I'd rather stay home!"
"Not an option! You need to be social, you're always on your phone and computer!"
"NOT TRUE!" Jess screamed while walking down the stairs. Jess's dad walked in from the garage. "Whats with all the yelling?"
"She's giving me a hard time again." Morgan replied.
"Ugh! Shut up! I'm giving you a hard time.. Lady, its the other way around."
"Jess! Don't speak like that to Morgan. Can you guys go ONE day without fighting please?"
"Sure" both replied. Jess walked away to go get her headphones from the basement. Jess had dark brown hair with a few streaks of red and blonde. Morgan had light brown hair with blonde streaks and her dad has faded red hair with a few streaks of grey. Jess and Morgan have an "okay" relationship, but when it comes to her and her dad, nothing could stop them. Jess sat down stairs for awhile until her parents started loading the car. Jess sat in the car and waited for her dad to start the car. "Jess can you map me to KFC?"
"Uh.. Sure. Which one are you trying to go to?"
"The one on Austin Bluffs"
"Okay."
"Thanks" her dad replied while putting the address in.
"In 500 feet your going to take a left. Then in half a mile your going to take another left and the destination should be on your right."
"Okay, Thanks." Jess put her music in and had thoughts running through her head.
I can't believe Chelsea has a boyfriend before me! I'm so happy for her. What's weird is that at Skate City, I wanted a boyfriend and minutes later and sixth graders brother and cousin came over to tell me his cousin liked me. Unfortunately, I wasn't interested because I'm going to high school. It just wouldn't work. I wonder if I'll get a boyfriend today, just my age or a year older. Oh.. We're here. Jeez.. How long was I daydreaming...
"Hey Jess?" her dad asked.
"Yeah?"
"Can you take the Cole Slaw inside?" her dad asked her.
"Sure." Jess replied grabbing the Cole Slaw from the floorboard of the car. Jess carried the food inside and set it on the counter. Jess went down to the basement with the other teenagers for a few minutes when someone else arrived. Jess went to go see who. When she saw it was Julie she was relieved and then saw Mason, Julie's son. "Josh!" Jess said in a panicked whisper.
"What?"
"Josh! Mason's here!"
"Mason! He never comes to things like this.. Must be a punishment or something."
"Maybe. I have a feeling he's going to the meeting after though."
"Good luck with that."
"Why?" Aren't you going?"
"No. I'm going out with a couple of friends."
"You're seriously leaving me.. Annalise isn't even in town.. Worst brother ever."
"Sorry social.. You're on your own this time.." Josh finished and walked down the stairs to go with the other teens. Mason came down stairs and stayed on his phone. "Star!" Jess called out.
