The next morning Finch was gone without a trace. I had barely slept the night before after Finch's confession. I glanced out the hotel window, the clouds were dark and it was raining.
"Great." I muttered out loud. "The weather matches my mood. Whoop-de-doo!"
"What?" Charolette asked, rolling over in bed. She sat up and yawned "What's wrong Cassie?"
"Well, my boyfriend isn't who he said he was, my Dad is stalking me, my best friends boyfriend is working with my dad on a plan to destroy the world, and I have to wear a dress to prom!"
Charolette threw her covers off, walked over, and sat on my bed. "I'm sorry hon." She said, giving me a hug.
While she hugged me I cried. I had been holding it all in, I just sat there and cried.
Finally I went into the bathroom and washed my face off.
"Cass!" Charolette called from the bedroom, "Life is here!"
I can't believe it. I forgot to tell her his name is Jason!
"Hey Jason!" I called as I ran into his arms.
"What's wrong Cassie?" He asked me.
"Well, my life is just kinda crazy right now."
"Wait!" Charolette interrupted, "Why did you call him Jason? His name is Life!"
Jason let go of me so I could explain to Charolette.
"No it isn't Charolette." I explained gently, "The real Life is up here somewhere. Or he is with Death now. Jason is just a cover who obtained powers from Dr. Ella. They stationed him as a cover so people wouldn't freak out."
"So you can give people Life still?" Charolette asked Jason.
"Yup. I gave my baby sister to my parents."
"Scarlette?" Charolette asked him.
"Yup. I gave her the ability to live. God created her but I filled her lungs."
"Wow." Charolette said thinking this over, "That's pretty cool. So you gave my brother Life?"
"Yeah." Jason said and began to laugh, "That time was fun, instead of a first breath he laughed."
"What about Death?" I asked, "Is she real?"
"Yeah. She just takes her hand, lays it on their chest, and their heart stops."
"Wow." Charolette said.
"Ok." Jason said, "Let's talk about what we're gonna do about this whole situation." We all walked over and sat on my bed in a circle.
"We could shut down the factory." Charolette said.
"No. That wouldn't work." Jason said, thinking it over.
"Guys. I know what we have to do." I said, grabbing my new handgun, "We have to kill my Dad."
