Chapter 2 The death of Kaname

(A/n: I did some research and there's nothing saying what happened to Kaname, Shinra's mother so I decided to make up my own way. Oh and please note this is in-between the fall amusement park and the spring tree part in the first story so it takes place in winter. And this is probably going to be a short chapter. Sorry back to the story now)

As I said before I'd tell you about Kaname next. I never knew how Kaname and Shingen got together i never got to ask and I guess I'll never know. I only came into the picture when I was two. It was Shinra's birthday, April 2nd but it was like 11 p.m. when he finished. I didn't know anything so he explained everything in less then 30 minutes. And also told me that if i suck someone's blood it means you have a strong bond for each other. He gave me a dress to put on it was (f/c). I liked this color. During a point in time he told me to forget my previous life. He grabbed my hand and then we walked out of the lab and got into his car, he started driving. "It's my son's birthday today, (y/n). I want to make it really special for him today".

"But it's almost over, Shingen". I looked at him as he continued to look at the road ahead of us.

"Call me father, (y/n)". His eyes softened as a generous smile came upon his face.

"O...o...okay f...father". I wasn't comfortable calling him father because I'm just merely his creation.

*Time skip*

We're arrived at him house around 11:50 p.m. We walked in. "(Y/n) stay here". Shingen walked off into a room in the house and came back with a woman. She's so pretty, she saw me then turned to Shingen. "Shingen is it really her"? "Yes". The woman ran over then got down to my size and hugged me. I was confused by what they meant. She backed up and put her hands on my shoulders and looked into my eyes. "Oh she's as beautiful as I could remember her to be, Shingen". She kissed me all over my face and hugs me more. They know me but I don't know them. But it seems as though she knows me she must work at the lab with Shingen sometimes. "This is my wife Kaname, (y/n)." Oh so that's who she is she seems ever happy to see me. "Oh ill be right back I'm going to get Shinra. He's been waiting so long for you my dear." She smiles warmly at me and leaves the room. She seems like a very sweet human. Then she returned with a child that would be around my same age, well if I was aging at a human rate. He had brown hair and brown eyes with glasses, a pretty average human child. My eyes widened when he ran over to me crying giving me a hug. "(Y/n) were going to have so much fun together!" He looked into my eyes and he didn't seem to be disgusted by them but i looked down in self consciousness not wanting him to look for too long. "I love your eyes (Y/n)." His words shocked me at first but it felt like it warmed my cold blooded body. "Alright kids this has been quiet the eventful night but we should be getting some sleep. (Y/n) you have your own bedroom already you can sleep there." Her voice sounded so soothing like an old voice i use to here all the time... like my mothers.

*Time skip to the middle of the night*

The sound of the door opening and someone crawling into my bed woke me. "(Y/n) I can't sleep I had a nightmare. Can I sleep here?" He puffed out his cheeks and made a sad face. "Yes, of course Shinra." I smile softly and he falls down next to me. I put the covers over him and he cuddles up close to me. "I like how cold your body is (y/n)." He buries his face by my neck and i pet his head until he falls asleep.

*time skip to morning*

Kaname had come to wake us up. I woke up first of course unlike Shinra, he was still snuggled up to me. I heard a small chuckle come from Kaname then she called out to Shinra again. "5 more minutesss.." He wined. "Now Shinra we have important things to do today, get up now please." Kaname always had such a sweet voice when she talked, I never heard her raise her voice before. Shinra groaned then got up, we followed Kaname into the kitchen. She had made breakfast for us eggs, bacon, pancakes and orange juice. After breakfast Kaname cleaned up the house and we went out into the town. Both Shinra and I held Kaname's hands as we walked. We shopped at the local grocery store, it looked enormous. This is all very new to me, in my past life we had to farm and well suck blood. Human food was a substitute for blood so we wouldn't get so hungry all the time. We would usually all go on walks together or go to the park, well except for Shingen he had work to do. The time we spent together was precious.

*time skip to winter*

The weather was very cold and the outside was covered in white snow. Looking like a winter wonderland. The cold didn't bother me much since I was naturally cold blooded. But for humans it is much different, they need heat to stay alive. Or they would freeze to death most likely.

But today was particularly dark and cold. It was blizzarding outside, so Shingen had to stay at work for the night. It would be dangerous to go out in this. Christmas was just around the corner as well, it is a holiday where you spend time with loved ones and even get presents most times. Shinra told me all about the holiday. The foods and decorations as well. Our house was well decorated by Shinra, Kaname and I. It was getting about dinner time so I made my way into the kitchen where Kaname was making dinner. It smelled very good like (f/f). And it happened to be just that! "It smells soooo good. Are you almost done?" I asked Kaname. "Yes sweetie, please go fetch Shinra for dinner?" She turned around and smiled sweetly at me. "Of course, mother!" I happily made my way to Shinra's room. "Shinra, mother said dinner is about to be done soon and she wanted me to fetch you." I said. "Lemme finish this game real quick." He said not even looking back at me. I went over and tried to pull the controller away from Shinra. He resisted pulling back. A loud noise was made coming from the kitchen. Shinra and I ran out to check on Kaname. Our eyes widened to see Kaname passed out on the kitchen floor with the (f/f) spilled everywhere even on her. She also seemed to be bleeding a bit from hitting her head. I could hardly control myself from the scent of her blood. Shinra began crying and went to shake Kaname. "MOM! Mom wake up!" Shinra cried more and I covered my nose making my way to the telephone. I dialed 911 and the rest was pretty much a blur.

Weeks passed and Kaname's condition worsened, due to the hit on her head she fell into a coma as well. I overheard the doctor talking saying that this had happened before a few years back but it is worse than before and her heart is giving up. I grew worried for Kaname and her family. They are all very sweet people, if there was anything for me to do I would do it in a heart beat. The doctor told Shingen that she only has a few hours to a day to live, with that the doctor made their way out of the room. I peeked my head through the door and saw Shingen to the side of the hospital bed holding onto Kaname's hand with a slight force. His cheeks were tear stained with new stains soon to form.

*Time skip*

It's been a few weeks since Kaname passed and Shingen hasn't left the labs since. I'm beginning to think that he has started a new project with a new "subject". He hasn't been home with me and Shinra since the night we came home from the hospital. I'm sure we will soon find out what he is working on.
