It has been a week since the vacation started and Brooke and I have been getting the feeling we're being watched from afar. Yes there are people on the cruise and sometimes we look in people's directions but this is different. Something just doesn't feel right and that feeling gets stronger around the captain.
"Do you think we've been at sea too long?" I asked Brooke.
"I'm not sure. Why do you ask?" Brooke replied.
"We could just be going crazy but things have been getting stranger lately," I said.
"I feel that too. Like something is just not right around here. We better keep our eyes open," Brooke advised.
"Do you agree that the feeling is stronger closer to the captain?" I asked.
"Yeah. I'm always catching him weirdly looking at us. It's odd," Brooke replied.
"I have an idea," I said.
"Oh no," Brooke said with slight amusement in her voice.
"I don't want us to jump to things but what do you say that we spy on the captain," I suggested.
"We could but we'll have to be very careful. We could get into serious trouble," Brooke advised.
"Of course," I said.
A knock was heard on our door.
"Are you girls up?" Our mother asked.
"Yes," we both called back.
"Alright. Meet us in the banquet hall for breakfast in 15 minutes," Our mother said and then walked off.
"Well, we better get ready for the day," Brooke said.
I nodded and then we went off to get ready.
15 minutes later:
We walk into the banquet hall and approach the assigned table we've been seated at since the start of the trip. Which so happens to be the captain's table. Our parents usually sit beside the captain and then we sit next to them. We sat down, ready to eat.
"How are you two enjoying the trip so far?" The captain asked us, looking specifically at Brooke and I.
"It's been good," both Brooke and I replied.
"It's been wonderful. Thank you so much for this opportunity," our parents replied.
"That's great. Just wait till you see our destination today. We'll be entering the Caribbean seas," the captain said.
Our eyes lit up. The Caribbean has been one of the places we wanted to go see. The water and beaches are so beautiful in the area.
"Can't wait," our parents excitedly said.
After breakfast:
We went back to our rooms to get everything we needed for the beach we'll be approaching very soon. The cruise ship finally approached one of the Caribbean islands and docked. Once we got our things, we were told to gather out on the main dock.
The mechanics brought a staircase from the side of the ship and landed on the sand below.
"Is everyone ready for a fun adventure?" The captain asked.
The majority of the crowd agreed.
"Now, this island doesn't come without its dangers. We have a few survivalist guides and medics on hand with us. So no need to worry. I'll be joining you guys a little bit later. For now, the guides will be showing you around," the captain reassured everyone.
