Meanwhile, Soara and Gylfie were too caught up in a moment and began flying faster and faster. For all they knew, Nyra, and the Pure Ones could be behind them. Soara knew they just had to make it out of there before things got any worse. However, the girls didn't know that they were now miles away from St. Aegolius and their pursuers long gone.

"Faster, Gylfie. Come on! Faster!" Soara said.

"I can't, Soara, I just can't. I have to rest."

"No, Gylfie. Come on, we have to!"

"Hey, wait. I think they're gone."

"What? Are you sure?"

"I think so," Soara said.

It didn't take her too long to realize what's going on. She looked and saw her wings stretched out.

"Hey, you know what?" Soara asked.

"What?"

"We're flying," Soara laughed.

Gylfie looked to see her best friend was right. They really were flying!

"oes it feel the way you thought it would?" Soara asked.

"No. It feels much better." said Gylfie. "What are we gonna do now, Soren?

"We're gonna find the Guardians of Ga'Hoole," said Soara .

Now, because of Grimble, Soara was ready to make her dream a reality.

Then she paused in her thoughts. oh, Grimble. That very poor old owl. He was just trying to help them so he could be able to go and free his family.

"Grimble's death was unfortunate," Nyra said looking out the window. She looked at Kludd. "But you... You had a chance to follow your sister, yet you didn't. I'm starting to think that you might actually deserve to stay. To be one of us."

"Oh, I want that."

"We offer power and purpose. What can you offer us? What can you offer me?"

"I... - I have another sister." Kludd began.

"Go on," Nyra said.

"She's young, but she's got spirit and will grow into a strong Tyto," Kludd answered.

"Perhaps you could bring her to me," said Nyra. " Here the young ones are our future."

"Are you hungry?" Soara asked. They flew for a while now, and both Gylfie and Soara were getting hungry. Soara was able to spot a moth nearby.

"Why? " asked Gylfie.

"Watch this," Soara said boastfully. She grabbed onto the moth, holding onto it with her talon. Suddenly, a small burrowing owl came through.

"Hey! Oh, nice hunting. You should be really proud of yourself..." said the burrowing owl. "Catching a moth that's already caught."

"Wait. You hadn't caught it," Soara snapped.

"Mm! I was very close. One might even say I was this close: Ah," the burrowing owl said. However, he saw it had flown out of Soara's grasp.

"Perfect," the burrowing owl muttered.

Gylfie cleared her throat. The burrowing owl then began panicking.

"An ambush. Well, I bet you didn't count on this." said the burrowing owl. He began digging a hole. Soara quickly took her wing and covered her face before the dirt hit her.

"I'm sorry. We didn't mean to take your moth," said Gylfie. Soara looked at her best friend.

"It wasn't his moth," Soara said. Gylfie gave her best friend a "not helping" look.
