On the day I left with grandfather, I packed a few set of clothes, my father's private business journals, and my mother's favorite crystal green jade tea pot set. Everything else in the mansion, I left to the Zhou Family - for my uncles who I knew would fight for ownership. I left before I was caught in the middle of the family feud.

"Li is the head servant of the house; let him know if you need anything at the Fa Mansion"

I tilted my head politely to the gentle-looking old man in the plain brown robe sitting across from my grandfather. In return, Li bowed his head low as he lifted the curtains of the carriage for grandfather and me.

"Please grandfather, do not worry about me."

I didn't have much with me which is why grandfather is worried. But it would be a mistake for me to take anything more - especially things which did not belong to me. They belong to my father and mother - more importantly they belong to the Zhou Family. I was no longer a Zhou but it doesn't mean I'm truly a Fa either. I couldn't be shameless as to be spoil by my grandfather who I rarely interact with. I lost that right a long time ago. Now, all I could do is not to cause any trouble for him.

"Wei Lan"

I was lost in thoughts and staring at the floor with the small bag tightly in my arms when grandfather was talking to me.

"Y_ yes grandfather"

I looked up at grandfather face for the first time, I clearly saw how refined and handsome he was. In that moment, I realized that mother and I inherited his light brown eyes.

"Why did you want to leave the Zhou? To give up your family lineage is unnecessary..."

I understood his concern. I knew my request had startled him because in the past, I had refused to go visit him. Again, I felt ashamed and embarrassed by my childish and spoil attitude.

"I'm sorry grandfather. It_ it was arrogant of me to take your name without permission. I will be careful from now on in front of others"

"Child" He Long sighed softly. "You misunderstood. I am not upset that you take my family name, but you shouldn't have disregard your father's family name - the name you were born with"

"Father will not be upset" This I am sure. "Father had always loved mother's name - Fa Su Lan..."

Somehow, my comment made grandfather smile.

"Fa Wei Lan"

Grandfather chuckled softly as he said my name. Seeing his smile, I felt as if I was accepted.
