By the end of the competition, no one was surprised when Bai Sun was announced the champion. He won all 6 competitions he entered.

At 15, Bai Sun was the youngest to win. There was 1 previous young champion and he had been 8 months pass 16. Although it was the first time Bai Sun competed in the Spring Competition, he was already well known in society. He was after all the young master of the famous Bai family. No one questioned his intelligence or his skills. He was well liked by many. Girls adored him and wish to have his heart. Guys looked up to him with jealousy and admiration. Several noble families already propose marriage, but Bai Yu allowed his grandson to choose his own bride.

Meanwhile, my older cousin and I won the competitions we competed in. That was enough to make grandfather and uncle Zedong happy. When I learned that the Zhou children did not win any of the competitions, I could feel both uncles resentment toward me. For the past week, neither uncles of mine acknowledges my existence. No one from the Zhou family approach me and from the glares, I knew better than to approach them.

"Do not concern yourself with the Zhou"

I nodded. Grandfather could sense the hostility from the Zhou at me. A lot of people did but they made no comment about it because of grandfather's high position. It was a known secret that grandfather has close tide to the royal family. Therefore, no one dare to gossip in ear range about grandfather and his family.

"Lan-Lan"

I unconsciously cringed to Bai Sun voice.

"Here, for you"

As champion, he was awarded the 200 gold teals and a jade plate. He was holding out the jade plate toward me, but I made no move to take it.

"You don't like it?" He smiled. "Do you want the gold instead?"

People around were startled as they saw how Bai Sun was giving me the champion prize. Many had already speculated the young master interest in me.

"Sun, you're making the young miss uncomfortable" Bai Yu chuckled as he appeared beside his grandson. "Learn some patience boy"

Bai Sun sighed softly as he handed the jade to a servant nearby without a care for it.

"Miss Wei Lan" Bai Yu smiled at me. "Next time, you must make another pot of tea for this old man"

"Master Bai speaks to highly of Wei Lan" I bowed my head respectfully.

Master Bai turned to give my grandfather a smile and a slight tilt of the head before he walked off while casually grabbing his grandson by his collar.

"Let's meet again Lan-Lan"

I watched wryly as Bai Sun was waving and smiling at me despite being dragged away by his grandfather. When my grandfather ordered that we all head on back to the Jing Province, I was relieved that we were finally going home.
