Amaris tied her long, untameable, brown hair back as she added another branch to the fire. She sat next to the warm, glowing fire. The fire is glowing now. She thought anxiously. that meant the sun was setting. Where is he? She thought irritably. Isaac should be back here by now! The Lost Boys love to spread out at night and see if they can find us. They have hated Isaac and I ever since Isaac refused to join their gang and leave me. Plus Isaac disagreed with them, and believed that our parents still loved us. Even though Isaac and I were separated by our parents at birth, and didn't find each other until a few years back, we knew that there was no way our parents didn't love us-

Amaris's thoughts were interrupted by the movement of an old, dead branch scratching against the ground.
Someone is here. She grabbed her dagger and went towards the noise. She crept along the ground on her toes, careful to keep quiet, stealthily cut the bush's branches
"Watch it 'Maris!" Isaac exclaimed. He swatted the newly cut twigs off of his shirt.
"Isaac!!! Where have you been?!" She said, giggling at Isaac's face when he would brush the twigs that also landed on his face.
"What's so funny?"
"Your face," she said still laughing, "it got all scrunched up and funny looking!" she laughed as they both walked over to sit by the fire, as Isaac irritably ran his hands through his thick, light brown hair.

For twins we don't look much alike. Amaris thought while observing her brother; after Isaac and her both settled down by the fire.
I mean, even though we're fraternal twins, you'd still think we'd look somewhat alike. He has deep, emerald green eyes, light brown hair, not quite defined features, but still defined. And perfectly straight teeth. Meanwhile I have dark brown, unmanageable hair, dark brown eyes, skin the color of caramel, and much more defined features.
We do share straight teeth though. And wide eyes. But that's it. If you were to look at us before you knew we were twins, you would never guess we were related!
"What are you staring at?" Isaac interrupts his sisters thoughts, even though he knows he shouldn't be concerned with what she is thinking, and more about what they are going to eat the next day.
"Our parents," Amaris replies distantly, "and how we will find them"
"You're thinking about years from now, when you could be helping me think of what we could do if the lost boys attack?" Isaac says, now becoming irritated.
Oh yeah, and he is super serious. While I am much more carefree. She thinks as she rolls her eyes at Isaac.
"Don't get your trousers in a bunch. The Lost Boys can't find us here. And there is a mango tree nearby for us to eat breakfast in the morning."
Isaac looks at her, puzzled. "That's right. I do more than just fantasize about our parents. While you were out doing Zues knows what, I was searching the radius of this area. We're secure here. And there is food. That's what I did with my day. May I ask what you did with yours?"
Isaac grumbles at her snarky remark. Typical Amaris, with her sassy way of saying that she needs to be appreciated. Isaac thinks (believe it or not) fondly. He loves that characteristic of his sister. "I was searching for a rumor, if you must know"
"Wait, which rumor? One of the ones to get us off the cursed place?!"
"Yes" Isaac replied, with a hunt of "but there was no luck" in his voice.
"Did you find anything? We've been on this island as 14 year olds for gods know how long!"
"I know we have, but I didn't find anything," he begins to say, disappointed.

"Well, you, won't find anything on this island without my consent"

Isaac and Amaris snap their heads back towards the all-too-familiar voice.
"I thought you said this place was secure!" Isaac yells towards Amaris, now pulling out his large knife.
"It was." She half growls half says through gritted teeth, with her dagger in hand.

"Without my consent you'll never be able to leave. You'll never find anything you want on this island unless I want you to."
"PAN!!!!!" Amaris dashes towards the smug Pan with her dagger. Her face is boiling red with anger.
He's kept us trapped in this island, away from our parents, our world, and any means of finding our parents, long ENOUGH!!!
"Amaris NO!!!" Isaac yells as he tries to grab Amaris, but is too far behind.

Amaris plunges towards Pan, dagger in hand and straight for his heart. But suddenly Pan catches her wrist, and grips tight.

He laughs, "That's right, you're the fiery one, aren't you? I like fire."
Amaris twists her wrist and cuts his with the knife in her hand.
"Ouch," he says still holding her wrist, "you definently are the fiery one. Your brother over there would have just told you to run and come peacefully. But you're one to take action." he says teasingly towards them both. Amaris glares at Pan, not knowing what else to do.
"If you don't let her go, I swear to the gods I WILL kill you!" Isaac says furiously, through gritted teeth.
"Oh, now Isaac don't go getting all fired up. I don't want to hurt either of you. You have both caused too much trouble on this island. I want you both gone."
"So what are you going to do? Kill us? Have fun with that." Amaris chimes in again with her fire and sass.
"No. Believe it or not, I'm not going to kill you. As much as I would enjoy it, this is a land where you can never die. The rules won't let me. I want you off the island."
"We haven't found what we were looking for though. We can't just leave yet" Isaac says half pleading half stubbornly.
"If you're referring to a way to finding your parents, I might just know a way. If you both come with me."
Amaris attempts to wriggle her wrist from his grip, but Pan just tightens it. "Don't even think about it, I don't trust you not to try anything."

Pan begins to lead them away from their own camp. Amaris turns back and looks towards Isaac, who has always been the leader of the two, and he nods to her to cooperate and follow Pan. They both follow the leader into the dark jungle, with their last hope of ever getting off the island, or seeing their parents, right in front of them.
