I pass through the dorm rooms silently. I had to talk to Cronin. She might know what to do with my condition. I look down at my hands. The places where I bite were turning black. I could feel my hands fine though, it wasn't a numbing or paralyzingly infection.
I finally come to the end of the girls dorm room. There was two doors on either side of me, thankfully there was name plates.
I bring my good hand up and knock softly. No answer. I knock again. No answer. I furrow my brows, didn't the nurse say that she was in her room?
I look around the halls, I could only see beams of light coming from under the doors. Why was I even in the girls dorm room. I could get punished greatly. I grab the doorknob and slip in Cronin's room.
I look around her room. It was covered with paintings. Paintings from a long time ago. When there was no titans to hide from. The paintings were beautiful. I walk towards one with a ship on what I think would be an ocean. I remember Armin telling of them. They had lots of salt and were huge.
I turn to look at the other ones, but I was stopped to see a scarred back. It looked gruesome, they were etched along almost every inch of skin. The scars were a deep red and welted. There was also a red tint to the owners back, did they get burned?
The owner of the injuries turns around.
"EREN WHAT THE HELL." Cronin screams. She clutches her breasts and turns back around. My face turns crimson and I cover my eyes.
"I didn't see anything captain!" I spin around, still covering my eyes. Cronin grumbles. I hear some clothing being thrown around. A door opens.
"Captain, is everything alright?" a gentle voice asks. Cronin shoos her out the door.
"You can turn around." Cronin closes the door. I slowly turn to look at her. Her eyes were narrow and she looked like she was about to kill someone. "Why did you come here." she crosses her arms. I rase my hand up to show her. Her eyes widen. She snatches my hand and grabs her coat, mumbling something about happening to early.
Pulling me out into the hall, she curses under her breath. And drags me through the halls.
We end up outside.
Cronin tells me to stay put and she runs toward the horse stables. She slips her sweatshirt on while doing so.
I stand confused. What was going on? In only a couple minutes Cronin comes up to me sitting atop a large horse. She pats the spot behind her. I wall towards her slowly. I position myself on the horse behind her.
Cronin was warm, my cold skin greedily soaks up the heat. I really needed to know what was going on with my hand but I should know better than to interrupt Cronin. She was sometimes worse than Levi, making our squad do extra training for talking to her when she was thinking.
We pass the night guard that surveys the wall around the SC base. Cronin nods at the man, he tips his hat. She lifts up her hand and makes a signal. The man salutes and runs down the stairs of the wall.
"He's getting Levi." Cronin answers my unspoken question. We pass through the now open gates. Cronin continues riding. The horse advances faster, making me clutch on to Cronin tighter. I feel her body stiffen for a moment and then relax.
The town near the walls soon comes I to view. I look back at the base to see Levi closing the gap between us. He held a tired look on his face. It could have anger though, I couldn't see very well. It was still getting darker. Cronin slows the giant horse to a trot. Probably giving Levi enough time to catch up to us.
I hear other horse footsteps and Levi appears by my side with his 3D maneuver gear. He nods to both of us and we continue on to the town.
The streets were quite, only a couple of drunks wander around. I start to grow scared, were we going outside of the walls? All of us could protect ourselves fine, but isn't this a little dangerous.
