I didn't find it right away. My summer love I mean. Actually it was the second week I was there. My grandma had just got done making the grocery list.

"Annie, I've just finished with the list. It's on the table. And I need all the stuff by two-thirty." She says as she puts my laundry basket in my room.

"Okay, well I'm gonna take a shower then eat something before I go." I tell her as I get out of bed and walk over to the closet. As my grandma says "Okay" and leaves the room, I pull out a tank top and shorts to wear and head to the bathroom.

I take about twenty minutes in the shower and ten to get dressed. I then walk into the kitchen, grab the list and keys and head to the car.

The store isn't as packed as usual. It has ten cars or less in the parking lot. I park the car and head inside, grab a cart, and start picking up the items on the list. I'm almost finished when I see him. He's flirting with a blonde girl who works here. I think John said her name was Lucy.

Beautiful. Perfect. So many words that can barley describe him. He looks like a Greek God. He's wearing a navy blue Hollister shirt, kacki shorts, and sandals. He has dirty blonde hair and an amazingly tan, muscular body. Looking at him is like looking at the sun rise. So beautiful and so blinding all at the same time.

I try to look away but it's hard. I'm so awed by how gorgeous he is that I don't even notice him looking back at me. When I do notice I quickly turn around and head the opposite way. I then realize I only need one more thing. Oranges. And those are right where the amazingly hot guy was standing with that blonde girl. I slowly turn around and make my way back to the fresh fruit section. When i get into vie and notice that he isn't there anymore, I pick up the pace.

I'm picking out some oranges when someone behind me says "Hey". I turn around to see the hot guy standing in front of me. I kinda just stand there awkwardly , looking at him. Finally he smiles and says "I haven't seen you around before. Are you new to town?"

"Umm..yeah. I'm actually here for the summer. I'm helping my cousin John take care of my grandma." I say with a nervous smile.

"Oh. Well how you liking this hick town?" he says following me to the register. He starts putting the groceries on the counter while waiting for my answer.

"Ehh, it's alright, not how I had planned on spending my summer though." I say as I help him with the food. After the cashier rings up the food, I put it in the cart and head to my car. He follows.

"My name is Paul by the way. Paul Lancer." He says as he helps me put the food in the trunk.

"Nice to meet you Paul. I'm Annie. Annie Frate." I say

"That's a pretty name Annie." He says with a smile.

"Thanks." I say giggling. "And thank for helping me by the way. With the food I mean."

"Yeah. No prob. Hey, if you ever get bored or want to hang out with someone give me a call. Your cousin John has my number.

"Uhh..Yeah sure. That'd be nice." I say.

He smiles and says "Cool. Well I'll see you around."

"Okay. See ya." I say. Then I get into the car and head back to grandmas, not realizing I just made the worst mistake ever, and that I was the one who was gonna feel all the pain. Not him. Me. And I was going to figure it all out the hard way real soon. I was gonna wish that I had never net him but be glad I did so I would never make that same awful mistake again. My lesson will be learned, whether I want to learn it or not.
