Prod
It seemed like hours before we arrived to our destination. Chres kept sneaking his hand over to grasp mine, with me pulling away every time. I'm not trying to get caught by these niggas, and he shouldn't be either. It wasn't until I heard the faint sounds of the bass hitting the atmosphere in the distance, before my anxiety kicked in. Millions of questions were rushing through my head on how I'd be perceived, but I knew that no matter what I said, it was too late to back out now. My heart rate slightly increased with each car that we passed by. I hadn't noticed the short breaths I was taking, until they were steadied by the soothing feeling of Chres rubbing his hand up and down my arm. I subtly flashed him a smile that only stopped, because of the car stopped.
"Okay, let's turn the fuck up!" Ray yelled, stepping out of the car, Princeton following behind him.
Slowly, I exited the vehicle and trailed the path taken by the other two. Both of my favorite people went in without us, and I didn't want to go in alone, so I walked even slower. Roc finally caught up to me, getting the hint.
"What took you so long to catch up?" I asked, slightly irritated.
"My bad, I thought we were playing a game or something," he replied. I shot a glare in his direction, him blowing me a kiss in response. I quickly looked straight ahead, my nose touching the door. Sighing, I twisted the knob and walked in. Immediately I was bumped into, and a drink was spilled on me. Great.
"Yo watch where you're going!" the guy yelled. I looked at him, and it was Princeton. He didn't even act like he knew who I was, he just smirked and turned around to get another drink. I already wanted to leave. Hell, I was ready to leave, before we got here. I turned around to be faced with Roc, clenching his jaws. Why in the hell did I agree to come here, again?
"Don't worry about it, Chres. I'm sure it was an accident," I patted his shoulder.
"Yeah, right. An accident. You want to grab a drink or something?" he lightly smiled at me, though I could tell he was still upset.
"Sure," I followed him through the dancing mob of people in the dark house to a table set up of snacks. We both grabbed a bottle of water and just chilled, watching everyone grinding on each other. I felt Chres's eyes cut to me a couple of times, and I felt like I was stopping him from having fun.
"You know you don't have to stand with me, I'll be fine. Go a head and find someone to dance with," I gave him a reassuring look.
He chuckled, "You see that coupled over there?" He pointed to a girl grinding hard on a boy's crotch. I sipped some water and watched them closely as he grabbed her waist and acted like he was thrusting in her. Both of their faces full of lust. I felt lips against my ear, "I was imagining that being us, except with no clothes.". My eyes widened as my drink went down the wrong pipe. Chres repeatedly beat my back and apologized as I tried to get some air, difficult with my coughing. Someone walking by stopped in front of me before turning around mumbling "Just let the nigga die, damn." I knew it was Ray, by the voice. I don't know how much longer I can take this.
After finally calming down, I found a corner to blend in with. Of course, Roc kept me company.
"Prod, I'm going to the bathroom. You gonna be good by yourself?" he questioned. I could see the concern in his face. I laughed inside, knowing he would hold his pee all night, just to make sure I was comfortable.
"Yeah, I'll be fine."
He stared at me before walking off, leaving me in a room full of strangers. I sighed, and scanned the room, suddenly feeling paranoid. I swear everyone I looked cut their eyes from me and whispered to someone they were standing by. Looking at the ground, I rocked back and forth on the balls of my feet, until a song came on that I couldn't help but to dance to. Look At Me Now by Chris Brown blasted through the speakers and I was lost in the music. It was like nobody was in the room except for me. It wasn't until the end of the last verse when I realized there was a circle of people formed around me, screaming "Go Prod! Go Prod!". I stopped and looked over at Roc, who mouthed for me to keep going. I continued and earned a full around of applause when I was finished. I was sweating, tired, and couldn't believe that I did that. I could hear everyone in the room talking about me, and this time it wasn't bad.
