You can't please everyone in this world. Especially when you're too focused on being the girl everyone else wants you to be. You spend so much time trying to live by other people's standards that you forget about raising your own. Some people may whisper, complain and judge. And I know for a fact that it's not because they find a change bad. Its out of spite and jealousy.
Jealousy. It's such an ugly emotion.
I can confidently say that because
since the time I've walked into my school with a crazy hair transformation, some people have looked at me with awe and positiveness while a bunch of girls have sent me nothing but spiteful glares. And I know for a fact that it's out of sheer hatred and jealousy. Now, personally I wouldn't have judged their individual opinions but if it came from none other than Serena Waters, I totally had the right to.She and her minions had been eyeing me the entire day and whenever I had caught them staring at me, I would just offer them a cocky, liberal smile.
Kill 'em with kindness.
But that was only till the second period. After my English class was over, Serena had walked up to me followed by her minions, each one more proud and ridiculous than the next.
"Hey, Brooklyn. I just thought that I should be completely honest with you since we are such good friends. Isn't that what good friends do ?" The fake sweetness was clearly evident in Serena's tone.I offered her a smile which I hoped looked genuine. "Yeah, you're right."
"Well then, the new purple hair makes you look like a street hussy. I liked the blonde look better." This time her voice was flat and completely annoyed.
"It's hard to believe that when it's coming from one. Thanks for being honest though."
"What did you just say to me ?"
"You heard me. I was being honest. Isn't that what good friends do?"
"I don't give a damn about your opinions bitch. Just change your hair colour back to that sick blonde shade."
"And why should I do that? Is it because everyone is suddenly more interested in me rather than fake praising you about your horrible tan. I gotta say, your delusions of grandeur is at its peak."
I was not in the mood for drama today. She's wrong if she thinks she can control and bully me."You whor__"
"Hey, now now ladies. Let's call it off, shall we? Oh Brook, you look hot as ever. I love the purple hair."
Tackle was the one to interrupt our bantering. He looked cheerful and had a smile on his face as usual. He offered me a wink and upon calling me 'hot', Serena just looked at him as if he was crazy and stormed out of the classroom along with her minions."Lol. Did you see the look she gave you?"
I stuffed my books inside my bag and walked beside him to our next class. We usually had our Biology period together while I shared my Math period with Block. Out of the twins, Block was definitely my favourite but Tackle was not bad either. We had become close since the unfortunate incident that took place on the 1st of April. He was so proud of me.He draped his arm around my shoulders. "Doesn't matter. Do you have any idea, how freakishly cute and hot you look? Why'd you change your hair colour though all of a sudden though?"
"Zavier and Logan." And that was more than enough for him to understand what had exactly happened.
"Oh my God. So let me guess now? He's dyed your hair purple and now you are going to dye his hair red and this shit is going to be never ending. An eternal war."
I just smirked at him in response although I wasn't planning on dying his hair. Till now, I just wanted his prank to backfire.
"Where's he though?"
