Silver leaned against the wall of the ally way, trying to block out the sounds of the busy city. He just really needed some peace and quiet right now because of the pounding headache he had at the moment, due to lack of sleep. He closed his eyes and reached into his back pocket pulling out a carton of cigarettes, only to find it empty.

He sighed and chucked it into the street, watching with slight amusement as it got knocked around and then, inevitably, got ran over.

Silver tried to turn what just happened into a metaphor for life, but couldn't think of anything.

 ...Life...

 That reminded Sliver.

Wasn't he currently trying to end his own life?

He looked blankly at the street, getting an idea.

"Those cars look welcoming, now don't they?" Silver said to himself.

While he was thinking, he involuntarily reached up to fiddle with the little pocket watch that was hanging around his neck. Sliver had already come up with a metaphor for his existence, and every other human on this Earth because of the watch.

He, and every other human being, were just a piece of clockwork, like the clockwork in the pocket watch. Wound up to face life, and just when he felt his sprig was just starting to grind to a halt... it was cruelly wound back up.

That had happened every time he tried to kill himself.

 Hopefully not this time...

He pushed himself off of the wall and walked towards the street.

The sounds of the cars grew a bit louder as he reached the side of the road.

As he walked into the street. Some drivers honked their horn. Some people screamed.

"Fuck!" He heard himself yell...getting hit by a car hurt a lot more than he expected.

  Then Silver blacked out.

Silver groaned. This better be the afterlife. He opened his eyes and it was far too bright for this place to be Hell.

"Oh! you're finally awake sir. That was quite a nasty accident. Bet you happy to be alive!"

Silver sat up to look at the nurse.

"Hell no I'm not happy, I'm the exact opposite." Silver mumbled.

"Heh... Guess you would be a bit grumpy after being in a car accident."

Silver ran his hand trough his red hair and laid back down with a sigh "Wasn't no accident"

The nurse didn't seem to hear that, and turned to look for something.

Silver laid on his side and that's when he realized his left arm was in a cast. Great! This is certainly not going to be an absolute pain in the ass! He thought to himself.

After a minute the nurse turned around with a syringe most likely filled with some sort of painkiller.

The nurse motioned for him to sit up.

He complied and let the nurse put the needle in his arm, he wouldn't refuse anything that would make him high.

"It will only take a couple minutes for it to start working."

"Good..."

Silver laid down and faced away from her.
