Seeing him again

I was in a hurry to get out of that crowded coffee shop, and into my office. I looked at my phone to read the time 8:37 'My boss is going to kill me' I thought

"Tall, Non-Fat Coffee" yelled the barista, "That's me" I said pushing my way through the people to get to the counter. I thanked the barista and put a dollar in the tip jar.

Once again I found myself pushing through the people to get to the door. Until...

*Spills Coffee*

"I am so so sorry, I'm in a rush to get to work and here let me get some nap-", I said but was cut of by a familiar voice, "It's quite alright mi-", and that's when our eyes met once again after God knows how long, "Robin", "Regina" we immediately hugged, God it felt good to hug him again.

"Where have you been stranger" Robin said smiling "You know work, work and did I mention work" I said, Robin chuckled then said "I get it, the station has been pretty over whelming lately" "Robin I'm so happy for you ! Well not for all the work, but the last time we spoke you were only just in the academy" I said completely ignoring that I was about 45mins late to work.

"Ah yes, I'm deeply sorry I never stayed in touch it's just the acad-", Robin said looking down, "Robin don't be sorry I totally got caught up in work too, we're adults remember" I said with a smile, "Speaking of work" I said looking at my phone "I'm about to be an 1hr late" before I could get up Robin grabbed my wrist and said, "You still have my number right?" "Of course" I said laughing, "Regina, use it please text me after you get off of work tonight" Robin said getting up as well "I will"

"Regina", Robin said smiling, he knew how bad of a workaholic I was. "I will, I promise. I have to go for now,but Robin you might want to do something about your shirt" I said laughing, Robin looked down and simply smiled "I will, goodbye Mills" "Goodbye Locksley"

I walked into my office and simply told my assistant Ruby to go get me a coffee, cause my recent one was currently on Robin's T-Shirt. I smiled at the thought of this morning. How good it was to see Robin, we had been best friends since the 1st grade when he took my lunch, so he could give it to a homeless person just outside the school. After we moved to New York from Maine to pursue our dreams, we lost touch with each other because of our busy schedules. Speaking of schedules...

I feared the moment Gold would burst into my office and yell at me for being late.

I heard a knock at the door and I simply swallowed and said "Come in",when I saw Ruby I breathed out a breath of relief, "Here you go Ms.Mills one Non-Fat coffee", "Thank you Ruby, you are a lifesaver", I said before blowing on my steaming coffee and taking a sip.

"No problem Ms.Mills, your new case is waiting for you on your desk" Ruby said pointing to my desk before waking to the door, "Ruby", "Yes" she said turning back "If you see Mr.Gold may you please call me, to let me know" I said with a nervous smile, "Actually your in luck I don't think Mr.Gold will be in today, something about the Flu?, anyways call me if you need anything Ms.Mills"

"I will, thank you again dear" I said before Ruby closed the door and I could relax back in my chair to read my new case.

It was about 7:30, and I had just sent Ruby home. I stayed about 15mins more to gather my things when I remembered to text Robin. I scrolled through my contacts to find his name, 'Locksley', which is the nickname I gave him in high school.

Regina: Hey, just got off of work. How was your day.

A few moments later I heard my phone ding.

Robin: hey, and I wouldn't want to bore you with my police duty things 😉 Anyways, how was yours?

Regina: probably not as interesting as yours, but just everyday lawyer work. I got an idea Call me.

Only seconds later I could here the sound of my IPhone's ring tone with the name 'Locksley' across the top.

"Hello" i said, "Hey, so this idea", "oh yeah, how about you order some pizza, I'll grab some beers from the store and we can catch up at my apartment?" "Mills, you've always known my weaknesses, Pizza and Beer. I'll be right over see you in a bit" he said, and I could almost hear the smile in his voice, "Alright see you then" I said laughing, before hanging up the phone and heading out the office and to the store to grab some beer, and maybe some Rocky Road ice cream?

hiya there, long time no see.. sooooo. this is a chapter from my book 'The Roadtrip' but i decided i would not continue with the book. i think it was WAY better having this a one shot. i had big plans for the book but.. could never get around to it. Anyways... till next chapter,
