Interviewer: So, Katie. Your basketball videos were on JNews Networks' Top 10 Best New Creators of This Year post. Were you aware of this?
Lugrinski: Yeah, I mean, probably. *laughs* Someone probably told me when I wasn't paying attention, which is a lot. This has all been a lot, yeah. That's amazing.
Interviewer: Have you seen the list? You're sharing this list with some big names. *shows list*
Lugrinski: Oh, this is for sure a list I'm not supposed to be on. This-this is all comedy people, and, uh, mine's just videos of me playing basketball. Well, and the poems. Let me see, who are these other people? Oh, I don't know any of these.
Interviewer: Really? *laughs* That's really surprising, actually.
Lugrinski: Yeah, I mostly keep to my quiet corner of tumblr at all times. Where I belong. And, uh, well-that would be a lie. *laughs*
Interviewer: What?
Lugrinski: I mildly recognize a few. I do definitely recognize one of them. Glowphone. I watch her stuff in a mildly obsessive way. But, who doesn't? *laughs*
Interviewer: Wow, I'm sure everyone's excited to hear about this! Glowphone, the ever-mysterious vlogger.
Lugrinski: Can you call her a vlogger? Yeah, I guess. I do really like this list, 'cuz, you know, I-I feel like another site might just make a list of like, the top people, but this is people with real quality content. Like, the ones I recognize make really good stuff. Glowphone isn't the most popular, and I don't think she'll ever be, just because, y'know, she talks specifically about being gay. With me it doesn't matter so much, I don't even- *laughs* I never even talk!
Interviewer: That was quite interesting, and I think quite true as well. People tend to shy away from it a bit.
Lugrinski: Yeah, well, I'm always up for defending all of our secret little crush. She really deserves it. She gets enough crap as it is.
