I walked into detention and I was met with an ungodly sight, the rest of the Valour brothers. Aiden had his head on his table and portrayed the perfect bad boy image; earplugs in, hoodie up, eyes closed, you know the drill. Meanwhile, Jaxton was flirting up a storm with some of the delinquent girls there. The teacher wasn't paying attention at all as he was on his computer typing away. Ha, no wonder people don't take detention for such a big deal.

When the Jaxton saw me, he gave me a cheeky grin and then a flirty wink. The girls wondering what had caught his attention saw me and gave me daggers through their eyes. Ouch! That hurt me so much! I thought sarcastically to myself.

Aiden woke up as soon as I entered, as if he could sense my presence. I'm really starting to think these boys are vampires, it explains their fast reflexes and why they were always so mysterious. Nah, impossible, the twilight books are just getting to my head. I sighed softly to myself, no matter where I go or try to escape, the brothers are always there and frankly it was getting on my nerves.

I plopped into my seat sulking, damn I was hoping for a good first day, but no I had to be the one with the rotten luck in my family. Unfortunately for me, I had also acquired my mum's clumsiness and my dad's forgetfulness which was always a recipe for disaster. First, I had my mortal enemies return on my first day, then be given two detentions; be bullied and tripped by the queen bitch, paired up with Jaxton for my biology assignment, and last but not least endure the Valour brother the whole time because at least one of them were in every single one of my classes. Plus, whenever I see them they are either lip locking with a girl or there to bring me torture.

Oh and great, I was going to miss out on my flute lesson that I had after school because of detention. Yes, I am a band geek. My flute teacher was going to call up my mom wandering why I didn't come. Shit! Mum! She's going to be pissed and going to go ballistic when she hears that I got after school detention on the first day of school. Her perfect daughter of course has never gotten a detention in her life. Her perfect daughter gets good grades. Her perfect daughter is soft and shy, plays an instrument, and is involved in the band program. Not only that but she has to be a dancer and volley baller so that she can maintain her perfect body weight. I groaned, “F*ck my life.”

“Is it just my hearing or did I hear the good girl swear?” Jaxton asked. Crap! Did I say that aloud. He looked at me clearly amused at my panic. “I-I was j-just..” I trailed off, knowing that it was useless to try to come up with an excuse.

“Relax, It's alright, I won't tell anyone. Besides it's not a massive deal to swear” he said, with        laughing eyes. I know that he was just teasing me but I was gave a quick sigh of relief.

I know that most people be like “What's so wrong about swearing,” but my mother was very, very strict. So I can't say it regularly or else it would become a habit and then I could slip up in front of her. If I swore in front of her I would be doomed for life.

Detention started off peacefully until I got annoyed by Jaxton who continually spat spitballs at me. He kept doing it until I was literally on the brink of insanity.

“Will you stop!” I cried out. At the same moment I stood up annoyed, while moving my hands in a wild frustrated movement. However, me and my damn clumsiness managed to get my pencil that I was holding to fly straight through the air so that it hit Aiden on the side of his face. On the sharp end as well. I winced, ouch that would kinda hurt.

Aiden suddenly stood up slamming his hands against his desk and walked over with a murderous look on his face. Oh crap. I'm dead. He was going to kill me.

He came closer and closer until my back hit the wall and until his face cam close to my neck. Shit! Shit! I knew it! He really was a vampire! He's now going to kill me! He's going to bite me! What do I do? I can't push him off because he has inhumane strength. I thought while I started hyperventilating in the inside. Aiden looked at me bewildered as to why I was shaking so much.

“Please don't bite me,” I managed to whimper out.

A baffled look went over his face, and then he did something that I thought he could ever do with his emotionless face. He started to laugh.

“What's so funny?” I asked. He started to double up from laughing as he clutched his stomach, almost falling down from laughing so hard. He had a husky, deep laugh, and it was something that I could listen for days.

When his laughing finally ceased, I asked him again.

“You seriously thought I was going to bite you? Did you think I was a vampire?” he asked grinning. I looked away from him embarrassed. Oh I guess not then.

“ You did! You seriously thought I was a vampire! Have you been reading a lot of twilight books lately?” he teased.

“No!” I quickly denied but I could tell that he didn't believe me at all.
“Aww were you hoping that I would be the vampire that would sweep you off your feet and take you above the treetops?” he said laughing.

“Wait, how did you know that happens?” I asked him suspiciously. He suddenly looks taken aback and stammers for words. I got him.

“OH MY GOD, YOU READ THE BOOKS DIDN'T YOU?” I accused him. Purposely saying it loudly so that everyone within hearing range could hear. His eyes quickly darted around nervously.

“No, it's gay,” he replied, trying to lie smoothly. Which managed to convince everyone, especially with his reputation. Ha! He couldn't fool me.

“You enjoyed them, didn't you?” I asked laughing, but he quickly denied the fact. Who would have though the bad boy would love twilight books. This was so good.

“You better not tell my brothers!” he tried to say intimidatingly. But, it didn't work any more, because I saw his soft side. I saw him for his true self- a big softie who loves twilight books.

“Maybe I will, maybe I won't” I replied back smirking, finally I got the upper hand. Now I could use this to my advantage and blackmail him into doing things for me.

“Emily....” he groaned, but before he could say anything more, Jaxton walked over.

“What are you guys talking about?” he asked.

I gave a quick, cheeky fleeting look to Aiden before I replied. “We were just talking about Aiden's love for-” I tried to say but before I could finish the sentence, Aiden had slapped his hand over my mouth to prevent me from saying anything further.

“Nothing. We were talking about nothing!” Aiden quickly covered up, giving me a meaningful look. This was so hilarious, I was never going to forget this moment. Jaxton looked between us suspiciously before he shrugged it off and walked away. I licked Aiden's hand to get it off, but it didn't work. He didn't even flinch in disgust.

“Emily....” he growled.

This time I tried to bite his hand, it worked. He quickly gave a short yelp before he released his hand and glared at me.

“What..?” I said back innocently.

“I'm warning you, you better not tell anyone” he said completely serious.

“Awww, is the big bad boy scared that I would tell his secret” I said speaking in a tone that you would say to a baby.

“Emily!” he growled again, louder this time.

“OK, Ok! I promise! It will be our little secret,” I said grinning back at him. He looked down at me relieved before he nodded his head and was back to his cold facade again, as if all that never happened. I looked at him confused, how could he change so cold so quickly. I sighed in disappointment, I guess I didn't break his ice exterior after all.
