Small Rock

I gave her a small rock,
In the shape of my heart.
She put it in her hand.
Her smile was a piece of art.

I loved her,
And she loved me.
My heart was once trapped,
And she let it free.

I once loved her,
And she once loved me.
But it didn't last as long,
As it ought to be.

So when I gave her a small rock,
It was in the shape of my heart.
But instead of putting it in her hand,
She took it and tore it apart.
