Your P.o.v.
The police finally came, but by that time it was to late. They got me out alive, but my mom was already gone.

Flashback:

We were on our way home from the grocery store, it was probably close to 10:30, and a drunk driver hit us dead on.

Our car ended up destroyed, set on fire by a chain reaction for something. (I'm not a mechanical genius.)

It was so hot, I could feel blood oozing out of my forehead. "Mom?" I managed to croak out.

"It's okay, honey, we'll be okay. Don't worry. The police are coming." She said, fear evident in her voice.

I was finally able to look at her. Her head had pieces of glass from the windshield in it, along with blood that covered most of her face. Her left arm as clearly broken, and her stomach had blood all over it.

She had it much worse than I did. And by the looks of it, she was getting weaker by the minute.

The drunk driver drove off, barely having a scratch on his car, not to be caught and brought to justice.

But that wasn't what was on my mind. My mind was on my sister. She hasn't seen us in years. The last thing she ever did with my mom was argue.

She would be heartbroken if mom dyed. And she wasn't to far from it by now.

I could hear sirens in the distance, but I knew they would be to late.

The heat was growing by the minute and my vision was blurring.

"Mom, I love you." I said, hopping that wouldn't be the last time I told her.

"I love you too honey." She said, her voice frail. I knew she was nearing her final moments.

I watched her face as she slowly closed her eyes, and stopped breathing, tear streaming down my face and sobs wracking my body.

I heard the sound of my roof being cut open, and the fire department cutting off mine and my mom's seat belts.

They slowly lifted us up, pronouncing my mom dead at 11:07 in the evening.

Flashback ends

I was in the emergency room, although I didn't have anything worth being here for, only needing three to four stitches on my forehead.

S/n came in, running strait toward me.
"Where's mom?" She asked.

"Sh-she died before the police and fire apartment arrived." I said, my head in my hands, sand wracking my body.

"No. No no no no no. This can't be happening. Why do good things always happen to such horrible people?" She asked.

"Because the bad people learn how to avoid consequences, and someone has to pay for the messed up shit that happens." I responded, even though it was rhetorical.

Police are trying to find the drunk driver, and from what I can tell, they've almost gotten him, with my description of the car, and the fact that the man had bright red hair.

They've nearly found him.

When I'm finally let out of the hospital, I see what looks like a castle on a hill in my peripheral vision.

"Lets go this way, away from society." I said.

"Okay. Yeah, we don't need others pity." S/n agreed. Without a moments hesitation, she grabbed my hand leading me there.

As we neared the ship I saw six figures leave it. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but I knew they were saying something.

I noticed one of them was severely shorter than the others. From their outline, they kind of looked cute.

As I got even closer I saw two people I thought I never would again. They basically adopted me at school, despite being several years older than me.

"Lance? Hunk?" I asked, making them look up. It was them!

"Y/n!" They both said in unison, running up and squeezing me as hard as they could.

"Where were you guys?" I asked. "I was worried sick when you two stopped writing me. And than I saw the news and..." I stopped there.

"We were in space, saving the universe, the usual." Lance said.

"Wait really?" I asked.

"Yeah." Hunk said.

Lance then turned to a girl with white hair and pointy ears. "If you want someone to pilot the white lion, Y/n's our girl. She's always wanted to be a doctor, plus she's like, crazy good at it. When she was in first grade and I was in fourth, I was chocking on a hotdog and she saved me before her mom could even come out of the house!" Lance said.

"Wait, how much older are you than her, Lance?" A guy with black hair styled into a mullet asked.

"Threeish years. I'm the same age as her sister, why?" Lance asked.

"No reason." He responded. I'm pretty sure he's Keith, Lance sure did talk about him a lot in his letters.

"I guess she would be a possible candidate." The white haired girl said. With that they went to lead me inside the castle, taking S/n along the way.

They lead me into this big room with a giant mechanical white lion, although it had the build of a cheetah, that had what looked to be a force field around it.

"Go up to it, if you're the one than you can come with us, but if the lion rejects you, you get to go back to your family." Lance said.

I turned away so no one would notice the tears in my eyes at the mention of family as I walked up to the lion, putting my hand on the force field gently, it suddenly dispersed, and the lion bowed its head and opened its mouth.

"Go one, go into your lion, Y/n." Hunk said.

I did just that. Seeing a control room in what looks to be the head of the lion.

This sure is the start of a new adventure...
