Chapter two

"We have another sighting, Sky" Ty told his friend as he placed down another pin that shows a desert biome. The commander simply let out a hum as he was staring at the map on the table, trying to figure out what it meant.

Ever since early in the morning, there had been reports about the strange bursts of light in different areas and Sky had sent small groups of recruits to investigate it and some reported to have seen footsteps on some random spots and moving, which was strange. He had also gotten word from Mitch and Jerome, saying that Jerome had suddenly caught scent of a female bacca and bacca cubs, which made Jerome slightly restless, wanting to go search for them. Another thing is that Ty told him about Seto freaking out in the middle of the night and Seto had explained about feeling a sudden burst of magic, but doesn't know what kind of magic which made Sky on edge.

He groaned and leans back, rubbing his forehead, "What does this all mean?" he questioned himself with a sigh. Ty simply patted him on the back, "It's alright Sky, we'll figure it out" Ty reassured him, "You should take a rest, me and Jason can take over" he offered, which Sky looked at him with a tired smile, "Thanks Ty" he thanked his friend and stood up. "Beside, you could go find him" Ty quickly teased him, knowing about his crush. Sky quickly blushed before flipping Ty off, "Shut up" he groaned before quickly walking out, not wanting to be teased more.

Sky was quietly walking through the town, seeing some shops starting to open and few people out to start their day. As he was looking around, he quickly caught glimpse of an orange and yellow tie in the crowd, which he knew who it was and quickly walked towards him.

"Hey Bodil!" he shouted, catching the Bulgarian's attention. "Oh hey Sky" he greeted him with a smile, which Sky smiled back.

"Never thought I see you awake at this time" Sky commented, knowing that Bodil would take this time to sleep in. Bodil simply chuckles at the remark, "I would sleep in, but Simon sent me out to get him some medicine for his headache" he replied, which made Sky slightly curious. "Why, did something happened?" he asked, curious and slightly concern, which Bodil quickly picked it up.

"He had a really bad reaction to something in the middle of the night, he was muttering something like a rip or wild magic" Bodil started explaining, sounding confused, but Sky instantly knew what was going on. "Can you take me to him?" Sky asked, almost demanded him, making Bodil confused, but slowly nodding. "S-Sure, but let me get the medicine first"

"Simon! I'm back!" Bodil shouted as he opened and walked through the front door with Sky following behind.

"SHUT UP BODIL!!" a loud voice was heard upstairs, echoing throughout the house, making Bodil laugh a bit. "Yeah, forgot to mention him being cranky" Bodil added as he placed a bag on the counter. "Then maybe you shouldn't yell" Sky slightly laughed and shook his head a bit. Bodil giggled as he grabbed a glass of water and the container of pills for the headache, "Yeah, but what's the fun in that" he answered as he was heading upstairs, "You can follow if you like" he added. Sky took a moment to think before quickly following him, secretly wanting to see Simon.

They walked to the door and Bodil strolled right in as Sky simply stood at the doorway, feeling slightly awkward. "Hey Simon" Bodil called out more quiet and gently as he walked to the side of the bed and sat down. Simon groaned a bit before removing the blanket over his head, revealing his messy yet fluffy hair, flushed cheeks and tired eyes.

"Geeze Simon, you look even worse than before" Bodil commented feeling slightly worried then giggled a bit when Simon simply flipped him off. To Sky, the young Bulgarian looked beautiful and Sky tried to his blushing from them, mostly from Bodil.

"Yeah....I had another reaction" Simon mutters out, rubbing his face a bit and held out his other hand. Bodil knew what he wanted and quickly opened the container and taking out two pills before placing them in his hands. Simon quickly put the pills in his mouth and swallowed them dry. "Geeze Simon, the headache must have been bad" Bodil said frowning and handed him the glass of water.

Simon faintly nodded as he slowly sat up and grabbed the cup and started drinking it.

Sky was silently watching the scene before him until he felt a vibration in his pocket, which he reached down and pulled out a small radio, seeing the message saying for him to come back as quickly as possible.

"Hey Bodil I have to go, but can you two come back later?" Sky asked Bodil, which he looked back and nodded. "Sure, see you later" he said waving at Sky as he was leaving.

"Hey Biggums! Wait up!" Mitch shouted, trying to catch up to his mate, Jerome,.The Bacca quickly snapped out of his trance and stopped, looking back with a sheepish grin. "Sorry Mitch" he apologized, lowering his ears, The human stopped beside him, slightly panting, "Geeze, you didn't look like yourself for a second" Mitch told him, worried a bit, Jerome frowned before kissing his forehead, "Sorry about that, its just my instinct" Jerome said, sighing a bit.

"How is this different?" Mitch asked him, feeling slightly curious and a bit jealous about how Jerome is now feeling these instincts that he was talking about. The Bacca smiled a bit, sensing his jealously and gently kissed Mitch for a few seconds before pulling away, "It's not like finding a mate Mitch, it's more like....parental instinct" Jerome tried to explain to him, but luckily Mitch quickly understood him. "Oh...." Mitch mutters out, slightly surprised and worried. "Then we should go find them" Mitch added as he grabbed Jerome's hand, walking ahead.

"SIR!"

Sky heard someone yell out as soon as he entered the base. He looked around and saw one of the recruits running towards him, "What is it?" he asked, slightly curious, but he didn't get an answer as the recruit simply grabbed his wrist and dragged him to the medical office.

When they made it, Sky saw that it was the group of recruits that he sent to investigate near the city.

"What's the status?" Sky asked Husky, whom was the head doctor, "Well, they're all in critical condition, but not fatal which is good, but they're going to need bed rest and not push themselves for a few months" Husky explained it to Sky, which he nodded.

Then they heard rustling and a cough, "S-Sir" they looked back to see one of the recruits with the least damage.

"What is it recruit?" Sky asked him, the male recruit was simply shaking a bit and looking a bit pale, "I-I never seen a-anything l-like that...it w-was also moving a-at lighting speed" he started explaining, Sky frowned a bit, thinking a bit, "Did you see what the person look like?" he asked the recruit, which he slowly shook his head, "N-No...h-he was wearing a helmet" he said, looking down, "But h-his skin was m-mostly covered in something blue a-and looked a bit slimy" he added, which Sky instinctively scrunches his nose when his mind instantly went to the squids.

'Are they up to something......no, they're not that smart enough for that...' Sky started thinking, trying to figure out what was going on before shaking his head and looked at the male recruit. "Okay, just get some rest" Sky calmly told him with a smile. "Y-Yes sir" he answered as he slowly laid back onto the bed.

Sky turned to Husky, "Okay that's some information" Sky said, sighing. The Mudkip patted his shoulder, "At least we're know something, we just need to find that person" he reassured the commander, which worked and he smiled. "Thanks for that Husky....also take a small break" he told him and started leaving.

"Thanks bro" Husky thanked him before quickly going back to work.
