The next morning I had awoken, after my eyes had fully adjusted to the surrounding  dimmed lights I realized I was not in my bedroom. I quickly scurried into a sitting position and grabbed my phone. 5:30am. Shit. I must have fallen asleep on their couch watching the movie last night. I looked around the room and quietly stood up grabbing my jacket that was neatly folded up on the chair next to me.

My mom was going to be home this morning. Her number one rule…Never spend the night out when she isn't home.

Great.

I'm dead.

I tip toed over to the front door slipping my shoes on and stepping out into the early morning breeze. It was still dark out, but I could find my way around thanks to the street lights.

As soon as I arrived home I noticed my moms car in the drive way. I quietly snuck into the house, careful of not making a sound. As soon as I stepped fully into the kitchen and closed the door behind me, the kitchen lights flickered on and there was my mum. Staring at me in her pink and blue night-robe that had cows in top hats all over it… I swear, I sold that thing at a garage sale last year. You can never take her seriously when she's wearing that.

"Lora burke. " My mom spoke through clinched teeth.

"Relax mom, I was just on a morning walk. " I replied while trying not to make eye contact.  I was never a good liar.

"Lora, you've never once lied to me…and now is not a good time to start. " She beamed at me.

I looked down at the ground. "Mom. It was just a walk.. "

" I got home at midnight, Lora. Now tell me the truth"

I stood there in silence not knowing what to say. She wasn't suppose to be home until this morning..

" Were you with that boy? " She said while emphasizing on the word 'that'.

"His name is Niall, and no.. " I replied to her. Continuous lies coming out of my mouth.

She took a step closer to me, not taking her eyes off at me.

" Then where were you? Because you weren't at Ella's..I called her foster parents. "

" Okay. I was with Niall..But, thats only because I fell asleep. We were all watching a mo-" I was cut off.

" I don't care what you were doing. I don't want you seeing him. "

" I don't understand why! " I shouted at her.

" Ever again… " My mom said.

"What… " I choked on my on words.

"Ever. "

"Mom.."

" Again. " She said while standing a bout a foot away from me now.
