Inseparable

Chapter Five

*Maddy's Pov*

I woke up the next morning, feeling like shit.  

I forgot that Abbi was still missing.  

I felt sad for a moment as I thought about Abbi. 

Suddenly I heard my door nob turn, it was my mom. 

Mom: "Hey honey, I didn't think you were awake."

Me: "I just got up." 

Mom: "Ok, well I made breakfast if you want any." 

Me: "Ok."

I got out of bed, got dressed and headed down stairs. 

When I got down stairs, I saw my mom on the phone again. 

Me: "Mom."

Mom: "Yes honey."

Me: "Who were you talking to?" 

Mom: "The police." 

Me: "Did they find Abbi yet?"

For a second I had hope that they did find her. 

But then mom said...

Mom: "Sadly no." 

Tears stared to come to my eyes as I thought to myself (i'm never gunna see her again) 

Sadness started to fill me. 

I just wanted to see her.. At least one last time. 

Me: "Mom."

Mom: "Yes."

Me: "Can I go outside?"

Mom: "Ok but please be careful."

Me: "I will."  

I sat on the porch outside, looking at the trees and listening to the wind.

Everything was quite. My mind. My heart. My blood felt like it wasn't even flowing. 

My blood cells were just sitting there inside me. 

At that moment I didn't feel anything. 

Then I looked up.

There was this path of flowers. 

Were those always there? 

I was so confused for a second. Why would there be a trail of flowers leading from my house?

I decided to follow the trail. 

I got up off the porch and started walking.

A few blocks later I go to turn the corner, but then the trail stops. 

Huh? This can't be the end. I just walked like 5 blocks. 

I stood back from the corner. I took a closer look at the trail. 

Wait.. This corner looks familiar.

OMG!

This is the corner Abbi turned and went missing. 

But why does the trail end here? 

Why does it even lead here? 

What the hell is going on. 

I stepped a little closer to the corner. 

Maybe this has something to do with Abbi!

Maybe it's telling me if I turn the corner I will find Abbi. 

I took a deep breath. And turned the corner.
