Rin was laying in a field not far from the village watching the clouds in the sky pass by. Every so often she would leave the village to have some time to herself. To think about everything she has been through and things she may do with the life that she has been given. Now nearing her twenties, she is sometimes frowned upon for not having married. Whenever there was a suitor for her, she turned the, down. Rin didn't care for some of them, they just didn't understand her and only wanted her because of her beauty, they didn't care much for her personality. Some even told her that she spoke and thought too much for a woman. That definitely was not a way to win her over. If this wasn't the case, she would tell them to get permission from her Lord. All were too afraid to do so, that was their answer in a nutshell.

As Rin closed her eyes in relaxation she began to wonder what her Lord was doing at the moment. He hasn't come to visit her in a while, and she wondered what was keeping him. Little did she know, that he was watching. He stood just at the tree line that circled the field that she lay in. he watched as her eyes followed the clouds, as her chest rose and fell with every breath that she took. When she closed her eyes, he couldn't help the feeling in his chest that he couldn't quite understand. A feeling that he always got when he was with her.

With soft steps, he made his way to her. Opening her eyes she saw her Lord sitting next to her in the green grass. Jumping slightly; for she hadn't been expecting him; she caught his piercing gaze. "You really shouldn't sneak up on a girl like that Sesshomaru." A few years ago she was told she no longer had to call him Lord Sesshomaru, but rather just Sesshomaru. He said nothing to her, just watched her. She sat up and brought her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around herself in the process. "Is there something wrong with me?" She asked him, while she looked up at the sky.

For once Sesshomaru was puzzled and didn't know how to answer. What could she mean but something wrong with her? Was she sick? No, she didn't smell sick, she smelled like Rin, of wildflowers, with a hint of vanilla.

"Everyone says there is because I haven't married yet." Looking over to her Lord she had a slight sadness in her eyes, a look he did not much like on her.

He replied with a simple "No."

"One, I don't very much care for them, nor them me, and they can't even find the courage to get permission from you. I don't want to marry a coward. I'm not even sure if I want to marry at all..." He let her words sink in for a moment before answering.

"Are you not happy here Rin?"

"Yes and no."

He looked at her fully now. She had his full attention so she continued. "I mean yes, people are kind to me, but it just doesn't feel like home here. I miss traveling, adventure, the adrenaline running through my veins when, well, when I would get into trouble." Pulling her legs closer to her she laid her head on her knees. Sesshomaru watched her closely and could see that she was not very happy, so he knew she spoke the truth. She acted like she was a caged animal compared to how she used to be.

"Come live with me."

Lifting her head up to look at him, having to blink a few times while staring at him. Was he serious? Yes, he is always serious. Lord Sesshomaru does not make jokes. In her joy, she reacted. Throwing her arms around her Lord and thanking him. As soon as she realized that she was hugging him, he had already placed one clawed hand on her back. Blushing, she pulled back and stood.

"I'll pack my things. When do we leave?" It was hard for her to contain the joy that she felt.

"Tonight." His face was as emotionless as ever, though there was a slight gleam to his eyes that some would miss, but not Rin, though she didn't say anything about it.

"Okay."

As they walked to her place she began to skip. Sesshomaru wouldn't show or say it, but he was, almost happy. That she seemed to have gotten her spirit back. All because she was coming to live with him. He would never fully understand this girl, and for once it didn't bother him, that he wouldn't understand this human.

Rin began packing her things into a bag that she was given a few years ago by Kagome. After about an hour she was ready to go. "All ready here Sesshomaru."

The smile she wore only grew when she turned to Sesshomaru with her bag in hand. Sesshomaru nodded in acknowledging her, and they both started to leave her hut. Before leaving though Rin had wanted to say goodbye to Kagome and her friends that had become her family in a way. Everyone was sad to see her go, but they knew that this day was to come, they just still had a hard time with the fact that Rin could want to be with Sesshomaru. Inuyasha threatened to kill Sesshomaru if he did anything to her, which caused a growling match between the two which was stopped by Kagome; as usual. Rin laughed at them and caught the attention of her Lord. His eyes watched her as she said her last goodbyes, and then her niece came running out to her. Tears filled her eyes as she said goodbye to Izzy. Sesshomaru watched patiently and even patted his niece on the head as she ran to hug his leg. Izzy ran back to Rin after that, crying for her, wanting her to stay longer. She lifted her arms up to her aunt, who picked her up without hesitation.

"Behave Okay, remember our song?" Izzy nodded her head, with her ears falling back on her head as she felt sad to know her aunt was truly leaving. "Just sing that, and know that I will be singing it too, okay." The little girl in her arms agreed and they hugged each other once more before Rin set her down and walked back to Sesshomaru.

Waving goodbye to everyone as Rin walked with Sesshomaru, they took their leave. Once out of the village, Sesshomaru eyed Rin as she wiped tears away. "Rin?"

"I will be okay, I just don't like Izzy crying is all, it makes me feel bad." Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow at her, something that he had started doing only around Rin in the past few years. He had been trying to understand more about the humans, one in particular. "She's my niece, and I promised to help take care of her, so when she cries, well, it makes me feel like I'm not doing what I had promised.

"We shall visit them soon." He told Rin as he looked up at the sky.

"Thank you, Sesshomaru." He nodded as they both say Ah-Un coming towards them. Rin smiled and started to jump with joy again. When Ah-Un landed she ran to them giving the two headed demon a hug. She climbed on and looked to Sesshomaru as they headed to his palace.
