Music can do wonders.
I love putting in my earbuds on a bad day and listen to some positive songs. I know a lot of people listen to sad music on a bad day, and I understand that. Sometimes we just need to hear something we relate to so we don't feel alone. I've been there.
But try listening to songs that help depression. Not songs that are depressing. I know we have all listened to a song just 'cause we like the melody or the beat. We don't even listen to the lyrics. Try looking up "songs that help with depression" Really listen to the lyrics.
Music is here to help!
But the hard part about it, is believing the lyrics. It's easy to listen to a song that is about what you're going through and relate and believe the lyrics. That's why I'm stressing so much that you try and stop listening to that kind of music.
Your taste in music is your taste in music. I get that 100%. But the more negative music you listen to, chances are the more negative you're going to feel.
Try finding songs that tell you what to do with what you have on your plate.
But listening to upper beats is a start!
Something a good friend did for me, is she made me a full playlist of positive songs that made me feel better. It really helped. Try doing that on YouTube or Spotify or Pandora or whatever you listen to music on :)
Music is a very common coping skill, and it's one of the common ones that work. I encourage you to sing aloud when listening to music. I know, it sounds silly. But trust me on this. It'll make you feel better!
If you play an instrument, just go with it. Start playing and see what you get out of it. It's easier to do then play an organized composition.
Play music in your room and dance to it!
Some of this, you probably think makes no sense. But if you try it, it will.
There's a reason why almost everyone loves music, and one main one is it's relatable and supporting. But I really encourage you to try some of the things I said. It really helped me and I have made a lot of improvement with my happiness.
