I stormed towards him.
"Leia, I-" he began. I slapped him.
"You're dead to me" I scoffed as I walked away.
I didn't play Anne that day.
Thursday, May 4th
I'd known him for years. We went to temple together. I never thought that I would taking a liking to him, or that I'd slap him while people taking a video surrounded me.
Going through Snapchat later that day, I saw the video. I felt no emotion. No regret, no embarrassment.
Nothing.
I didn't even care about the jokes. Some even made me laugh. Especially the ones about Derek.
Derek. It's a long story, but we have plenty of time.
We'd never really talked before. Maybe some small talk at youth groups. We knew each other, but were far from knowing each other well. Until the first day day of 4th bell language arts freshman year.
I sat next to my soon-to-be friends, Brooke and Kevin. Another soon-to-be friend, who I knew about as well as Derek, sat across the room at another table. My best friend, Rebecca, came in when there were only two seats left. One at a table of boys, another at a table of girls. Needless to say, she picked the boys' table. Just kidding!
Derek was the last to come in. He sat in the only empty seat, right behind me. Because of the way the tables were configured, we were sitting back to back.
As I listened to my teacher drone on about the syllabus, I had no idea what something as insignificant as a seating arrangement would bring.
