"Hey, Costello." A cold hand clasps my forearm and abruptly shakes it. I open my eyes slowly, momentarily unaware of my surroundings.
I realize then that I'm in the Slytherin common room, curled up on one of the couches, and the one to wake me up had been Malfoy.
I must've fallen asleep while studying.
I can't stand Pansy's constant whining; it's distracting, makes it especially hard to focus, and so hard on the ears.
So every night that I have a particularly large sum of homework or things to study, I do it in the common room, in my favorite spot on my favorite couch.
I woke up rather early this morning, much to my distaste, which left me with a lingering fatigue for a better part of my uneventful Tuesday. I must've nodded off as my eyes skimmed over my charms notes.
"Draco? What were you doing out so late?" I blink slowly, straightening out of my previously slumped position.
"Quidditch practice. I had no idea you'd been waiting up for me, though, maybe I would've walked faster." He smirks, sinking into the couch beside me.
"Don't flatter yourself, Malfoy." I roll my eyes, collecting the books that are scattered across my lap. It's getting late, and I really should get to my real bed so I don't have another day like today tomorrow.
"You should call me Draco." He corrects, the teasing twinkle still evident in his gaze.
"Only if you'll start calling me by my first name." I reason, doing my best to imitate his smirk.
"If I must!" He huffs dramatically, crossing his arms over his chest. "....Emilia." He adds quietly, and the way my name rolls off his tongue forces me to involuntarily shiver. Thankfully, he doesn't notice. Or if he does, he doesn't show it.
"Well, I hate to ruin this... this... whatever it is, but I really should get to bed." I sigh, and I immediately see the way his smile falters. I get up and walk to the staircase that leads to the girls dormitories, not expecting a word from him.
"Goodnight." He calls out quietly to my retreating figure, and I wonder if he meant for me to hear it. Nevertheless, I grin.

The rest of the week I unintentionally ignored my newly made friend.
I'd become immersed in my studies, and in my free time I was almost always at a meeting for the D.A.
