Kaylee's POV

"Kaylee Hood you get back here this instant, I do not want you seeing those boys anymore!" My mom shouted at me as I was on my way out the door.

I spun around to face her "Those boys are my best friends and one of them is your son, my brother!" I raised my voice I was getting angry now, she always did this.

"Calum is no longer my son, he made that decision himself when he left this house!" She said pointing a finger at me.

"Maybe if you hadn't of brought that ass hole here to live with us he might still be here!" I countered. I hated when she talked bad about Calum.

"Don't you dare use those words against Chris he may very well be your step father one day, young lady!" she said grabbing my cheeks and squeezing hard.

"Well when that day comes you can be sure you won't have anyone to consider your child anymore." I said as calmly as possible, pushing her hand away. I turned towards the door again.

"Don't you talk to me like that!" she screamed, grabbing my shoulder and throwing me to the ground. My eye smacking the door handle on the way down, I could tell it would leave a mark.

I tried to get up but she pushed me back down slamming my head onto the floor. "I am not going to put up with your crap anymore, you are never gonna see those boys again. Do you hear me?" She seethed.

I wanted to cry, I tried not to because I didn't want her to win this but I couldn't help it, I felt the tears streaming down my face.

She raised her hand to hit me again, but before she could the door banged open and I heard someone shout "Hey!" before I blacked out.

Luke's POV

"What's taking her so long? I'm hungry!" I whined sitting in the back seat of Ashton's car. I looked up at Kaylee's front door but she still wasn't coming.

"Why don't you go up there and get her instead of annoying the shit out of us." Michael said from the front seat.

I sighed and slid out of the car. She always took so long to get ready, it's ridiculous. Sometimes I wonder why she's my best friend.

I walked up slowly to the front door. I peeked in the window beside the door to see if she was there.

What I saw made me want to hurl. Kaylee was lying on the ground, tears streaming down her face, which looked badly bruised, especially around her left eye, while her mom was standing over her.

Her mom raised her hand and I couldn't take it anymore. I burst through the door and shouted "Hey!"

Her moms eyes widened and she just stared at me. I looked down just in time to see Kaylee pass out.

I walked around to Kaylee's other side without saying a word, picked her up and carried her out the door.

When I was half way down the path Calum, Michael and Ashton jumped out of the car and ran to me.

"What the hell happened!" Calum yelled, taking her out of my arms carefully.

I told them everything that I saw and we all climbed back in the car and headed to Michael's house where Calum had been staying the past two months.
