Chapter 13:
"Were here! New York!" Fiona shouted as she got out of the taxi. Mom followed but I sat there wishing I was at Paris. But, I should make the best of this..mini-field trip, and have fun. I gently slid out of the taxi, not before I gave the taxi driver a tip.
He deserved it, because if I was him, I would have drove the car into the ocean, listening to my mom complain about my mom, and Fiona asking mom so many questions. Did I mention that Fiona screams when she's excited. Well....she does, and the driver sat there the whole time, as though this was an everyday thing.
He gave me a grateful smile which I quickly returned. I turned around to see Pamela and Fiona across the street. I groaned and quickly ran towards them, not before I made sure it was safe to cross the street. I finally made it panting, I may be skinny, but I have basically no energy in that category.
Pamela gave me a sheepish smile, "Oops, I kind of...forgot you back there." I ignored her as I continued walking. Fiona grabbed my arm, yanking me inside a store. A store filled with beautiful dresses. Okay...here we go.....
"Hello, Im Diana, how may I help you?" A saleslady asked, with a smile. Oh, she's one of those......Those people that are always happy.
Pamela whispered in her ear, and her eyes turned to me, as she flashed me a smile. I forced myself not to groan, as she led me to a changing room. She handed me a boatload of clothes, which I sadly took.
I swiftly took off my clothes, and changed into the first dress, which was a one shoulder gray dress, that stopped at my thighs....hmmm, maybe this will go faster than I expected.
An hour later:
"Here, try on these!" Diana said handing me, more dresses. I groaned as I slipped out of the spagetti strap pink dress. This was not fun......and this did not go by faster than I expected.
I basically put on every dress in the store. THE ENTIRE STORE! Wow...trying on dresses is a lot of work, you have to put it on, take it off, choose a color, see if it fits, look for the right size...It's basically a job! A job that sucks cheese!
I can't believe I still haven't found the dress, the dress that will make my eyes pop, a dress that would fit me perfectly, a dress that.....a dress like this. I looked down to see that I was wearing a red strapless dress, with everything. It looked beautiful, it looked flawless. I was speechless.
I walked out of the changing room, and everyone gasped. Diana looked smug, and Pamela smirked,
"You got that body from me!" She said as she high-fived Diana. I stared at them curiously and a little freaked out. Fiona crushed me in a hug, and I hugged her back.
"Er...I'll go change." I said walking back into the changing room. I quickly changed back into my clothes and smiled,
I can't believe that this, stupid, endless, shopping day, actually went well. I walked out to the register with my dress, as Diana ringed us up. Wow, I can't believe Im smiling...while shopping, life is making me grow soft....actually marriage is making me grow soft.
Marriage...it felt so foreign in my mind. Marriage, Im seventeen, and Im getting married. Maybe, it's a good thing it's Chris Im getting married to, instead of some snuck-up guy, that was after money. When Diana finished ringing us up, we decided to have some lunch...IN NEW YORK!
I got to choose, so I chose...pizza! It was hilarious actually, to walk in a pizza place, with two people who were dressed all fancy. Everyone stared at them as though they were weirdos...it was hilarious.
