A/N : Hey guys, so sorry about all the mistakes in this chapter (There may be a lot) but I just didn't manage to go through and edit the whole thing plus autocorrect keeps changing the spelling of Regan's name so if ya see it spelled differently that's why! Sorry bout that :(

|Chapter 8

"That was the part where you died. So surely this should be the part where satisfaction brings you back." My breath caught catching onto his meaning almost immediately, I was the cat in all this. My mind completely frozen as every nerve on my body became alert, the air knocked completely from my lungs as my teeth dug deeper into my lip, his eyes latching on and never moving.

"I've heard there is a delicate time limit for resuscitation so we should start straight away."

My legs wouldn't carry me further into the rack of clothes and just let the fabric swallow me whole. Nah. That would be too kind.

"Uh. . . what are you. . ." The words fell silent on my lips as I stared up at him wide-eyed knowing exactly where this was going. His hand reached out coming to a halt just inches away from my cheek when he caught me flinching away completely uneased at the idea of another personal exposing session. Living with these guys brought on a whole new meaning to anxiety!

At first, he looked at me confused, then sympathy as if he thought it was something my body was used to doing . . . flinching away from fists and kicks but then something else settled in his darkening eyes. He was intrigued.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you have something to hide."

"Guess you don't know any better than." I muttered, my voice a mix between a squeak and groan.

"Well in that case," he began, his hand falling back to his side as the corner of his lips twitched into that casual smirk. "Why are you so afraid of me touching you?"

There were so many plausible explanations I could give but that just felt wrong, using Danny as an excuse when this time it wasn't the case. Instead, I lowered my eyes to the ground chewing on the inside of my mouth in defeat. Goddamn morals! Ugh, now I'm really stuffed. There was no way he was letting this go and thanks to all his stupid comments, I'm too flushed to even think of a proper excuse!

"I don't have to tell you everything and you don't have to know everything just cause you're psychic." I forced out, my lips barely moving.

He didn't reply, not right away. Instead, he stared right at me intensely, his jaw tensing under the glow from the ceiling lights before he took one long stride backward allowing me to sigh deeply in my little crook of clothing.

"You're absolutely right." He replied, throwing me off. Well I deffinatley wasn't expecting that! Maybe a little sexual advance to get the information out of me. There was even a small part of me that expected him to get a little annoyed after all he was Ian's brother but nothing. His smile remained, gentle. Slowly pushing myself away from the rack of clothing, I straightened my shoulders and cleared my throat. "Pick anything you want," he said gesturing the various racks around us. "Get yourself a decent wardrobe. Whatever you feel comfortable in."

"Anything? Are you crazy?"

"I'd like to think I'm completely sane but I guess we all have crazy somewhere in us." With that, he walked away towards the small counter leaving me alone. I walked right to the back of the store closest to the bathroom and searched the various jeans hanging trying to focus on anything but actually shopping. I glanced up trying to spot the counter knowing it was far enough for Regan to be far from sight. If I was completely alone I could do this. It wouldn't be so embarrassing . . . so hard.
