It all started with a small earthquake, that's how I remember it anyway. Then it grew. And grew. To magnitude of 7.6. Houses crumpled and shattered around us. It killed the entirety of Cottonwood, Idaho. About 900 people. Then the ash that followed afterward seemed endless. It killed almost all of the farming communities in the wake of Mount Saint Helens. I am Aspen Alexander, and I survived the destruction of a super volcano.
