The detonation happened before anyone could anticipate.

A deafening roar it was.

A sharp bolt of thunder, amplified, processed

And played on loop, over and over again.

The noise reverberated for a whole two minutes.

Fire consuming flesh, the air smelt of meat

Singed and sautéed, with a superficial coat of Nitramide

Except it was human.

Bodies lay everywhere,

Splintered, Shredded and Blackened.

A graphic portrayal of the universe telling,

No matter how rich, powerful or influential,

At the end of the day, everyone goes to bed the same way.

Some writhed while some just lay still.

Some glowed by the reflection of the blaze on the bloodied bodies.

Oh! And some were just mounds of flesh,

Unrecognizable and unpalatable

Splattered blood stained the ground,

Like ugly spots on a diseased leaf.

With a fugitive  of senses

Pain, shock and sorrow swirled around in equal measure.

Silence at first. A deafening ringing silence.

An injured dog whimpered in pain and limped away,

Losing faith in humanity, yet again.

The assassin's body lay in a corner thrown away by the intensity

While his, a little away from hers.

Both of them mangled and deformed

The assassin and the victim.

The one who thirsted for blood and the one who was innocent.

Both lay expressionless.

The vengeance that bubbled on her face

Had vanished without a trace.

Wails of pain and anger echoed around.

People searching with desperation.

Some for their loved ones,

Some for lost body parts, an arm or perhaps a leg.

A distant howl of sirens once again.

This time they were white mini vans with red crosses.

Shoveling whichever they assumed will make it.

A random child sat in a corner, crying out loud.

Blood dripping from her forehead.

Still, the assassin lay there

Lifeless, face drained of emotions.

Cold blood turning colder.

Rigor mortis slowly creeping in.

Soon, a big crowd gathered around the site.

A lot of them helping the victims of the fateful incident.

It was a full moon day with a lot of bright stars.

Had it not been for such a miserable event,

It would have been a beautiful night.

Hi!!! The above explained scenario is the assassination of India's Ex-Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The assassination was carried out by the LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) on 21st May,1991. The assassin was a minor female named Thenmoli Rajarathinam ,otherwise called  "Dhanu".

I have tried my best to bring life to it.... Please read and let me know your thoughts.
