Hellooo. I really think this story is adorable. I hope y'all think so too~!
{Ciel P.O.V.}
I was in the kitchen when I heard the distressed noise coming from outside. "Luka?" I said, walking to the window that faced the front yard. From the side, I saw the pale horse galloping towards me. I threw down the dish towel I held in my hand and ran outside to the frantic horse. I placed My hands on his mane, petting him to calm him down. "Whoa, whoa, Luka. What's wrong?" I asked. "Where's madam Red?"
I didn't think much, I pulled up the hoodie on my long blue coat and swung myself over the horse's back. I grabbed the blonde mane that blew and begged him to take me to Red. He didn't protest.
Luka sailed through the town, me jumping on his back as we ran through the woods. It began to get cold as the sun went down, making me glad my coat was fleece lined. As we went deeper into the forest, Luka and I came across a fork in the road. I looked both directions. How would I know which way she took?
The path ahead of me was completly dark, and the one on my right was bare and lonely looking. I was about to head straight when I saw something flutter in the corner of my eye. Curious, I pulled Luka to the right, trying to find the movement again.
I saw it and many more. It was paper. Paper from Red's books. All around the snwo covered path, there were paper lined bushes and trees, wach holding a part of the ink covered pages. As I went further ahead, I saw the battered wagon I had attached to Luka before Red had left. "Oh Red. . ." I whispered, trotting past the wreckage. "What happened to you?"
I continued along the path and began seeing a black fence come into view. It was metal and had large spikes on the top to keep people from entering the grounds. I had a bad feeling Red had somehow entered said grounds. Sadly, the feeling I had was right. Up ahead was a large gate and it was partially opened. When I got closer I slid off of Luka and tugged him towards the opened gate. I had to push it open a little more for Luka to squeeze in as well.
The inside of the fence was beautiful. Lining the fence was beautiful vining silver roses. I walked over to them, but before I could touch a petal, I noticed the blood lining the once white snow at my feet. I leaned down and examined it. It had to be Red's. It was fresh.
I led Luka over by the large castle and placed him in the horse stalls that where off to the side. I climbed the stairs and up to the heavy doors, knocking loudly on them.
"Hello!?" I called, gazing up at the large windows above me. "I need help!" I was about to bang on the door again when it suddenly opened. I frowned and walked in, looking around for the person who had opened the large doors. No one was in sight. However, just because I couldn't see anyone, doesn't mean I didn't feel the eyes of someone watching me.
In front of me, I saw a grand staircase that divided into two sections. I began to climb up it, starting to go right before I heard a yell for help. It was Red. "Red?!" I yelled, hoping to have her call back. She couldn't hear me, but I knew she wasn't up the right staircase. I began running up the left, still feeling the eyes on me. I climbed and climbed, hundereds upon thousands of stairs to get to where Red was yelling. As I ran up the stairs, I saw a gold metal candelabra sitting on one of the shelves lining the wall. I picked it up and continued up the dark stairway, hoping I wouldn't run into anyone other than my aunt.
"Red?" I called, coming to a dark room.
"Ciel?" Her voice was weak, but I knew it was my aunt.
"Red! Oh God, Red, I found you!" I cried, running towards her. She was locked up in a tiny jail. This room was a dungeon. I held the candle over the lock on the door. "Red, there's a key. Do you know where the key is?"
She shook her head and was about to speak when another voice cut her off.
"Hurry, miss. My master will be coming to see what is happening up here if you don't hurry!"
I yelped and dropped the candle, watching as it bounced and got up, relighting the wicks that had gone out.
"Come," he said, "I'll show you where he keeps the keys."
After he showed me, I grabbed them and returned to my aunt, fumbling to find the right one. There were hundreds of keys it seemed like. How could I find the one that fit my aunt's?
Beside me, the candle urged me to hurry, saying how his master was coming. When I found the key, I smiled and placed it in the lock. But before I could open the door, someone grabbed my shoulder, spinning me around and pinning me against the wall. I winced as my back hit the jagged stones sticking out from the wall. Before me stood a figure cloaked in darkness. The only ting visable was this eyes, red like the blood I saw on the snow, but with a hint of pink as well.
"What are you doing here?!" He bellowed, making the walls shudder.
His voice made my aunt and the cadle wince, but the tone made me become angry. "I'm getting my aunt! She's injured and needs to have medical attention!"
"I'm afraid that won't be possible. . ." The man growled. "She is a criminal. She deserves to rot here."
"What is it she's done then?" I spat. I hated this man. I hated him, how dare he be so cruel!
"She was stealing."
"Stealing what?"
"A rose."
I gave a nasty laugh. "A rose? Are you kidding me? You are leaving her here to suffer because she was going to steal--" I stopped when I remembered the blood next to the roses. I felt the anger bubbling in my stomach at what had happened. "You hurt my aunt. You hurt her!" I yelled, swiping out at the male. I scratched his face, making him roar. He dropped me and and stumbled back, grabbing the cheek I scratched. The keys were still in the door when I turned the key.
"Run, Red!" I cried, opening the door. Before she could, though, the man had slammed his hand over the door. I tried to move back, but he backhanded me, sending me flying into the wall again. I winced and dabbed my head with my hand, feeling something warm coat my fingertips. I knew I had to leave, but I couldn't leave Red here to die. Before the man could lock the door, I croaked out, "wait." He turned towards me. "Take me," I whispered. "Set my aunt free, I'll take her spot."
The man stood there, contemplating the request I had given him. He shook his head, "no."
I felt the anger bubbling inside me again. I screamed at him, "YOU HEARTLESS BEAST. LET MY AUNT LIVE. LET ME DIE IN HER PLACE!"
At my words, I saw him flinch and stop. Finally, he opened the door and grabbed my aunt, tossing her towards me. I grabbed her as she fell into my arms.
"Ciel. . ." she whispered, hugging me.
I didn't hug her long before Beast had grabbed my arm and tossed me in her spot. I watched as he picked up my aunt and carried her out. She screamed to me, saying how she would leave the horse for me to escape and come back to her. She told me she would get help and come get me.
"I love you!!" She screamed.
I wrapped my fingers around the cold bars, "I love you too," I said, hearing my whisper echo off the empty walls.
