Hey! Sorry I've been dead, and I don't have excuses, but I'd love to write for y'all still. My homecoming is coming up this weekend (my last one since I'm a senior!), and I have a three day weekend with NO HOMEWORK. So, here's a chapter that has taken far too long, enjoy! (Also, why didn't anyone tell me that chapter 8 was a copy of chapter 7??? *Cries*)
Ciel P.O.V.
I wasn't revolted or anything, but. . .I really didn't enjoy his hands over my eyes. It was completely dark and completely furry as we walked through the hallways. We had been walking for a while, and as we twisted through the corridors, I proceeded to try and remember which ways we were turning, but eventually became lost in the colossal maze.
"Ciel?" He asked, his paws shifting over my eyes as we came to a stop. "I'm going to remove my hands off your eyes, but promise you'll keep them closed?"
I nodded, too nervous to respond. Was this it? Was this where I was to be eaten? Although the answer was no and my anxiety was getting the best of me, I kept my eyes shut and felt his body move away from mine. I heard a creak of doors opening and felt him tentatively take my hand, pulling me towards him. My breath hitched as I felt him next to me again, confused as to why I was so scared.
"Okay. . ." He whispered. "Open your eyes."
I did as I was told and my eyes fluttered open, watching as candles began to flicker on, their flames catching along the dozen of candelabra's along the ceiling, lighting the golds and reds that decorated the room. I gasped, watching as books began to be lit up. There were hundreds--No, thousands around me! I brought my hands up to my mouth, covering a small squeal that attempted to escape my lips. It was beautiful.
Sebastian P.O.V.
I watched, glee filling me as I watched her eyes widen at the books surrounding her. I had never shown anyone my library, but now, because of her reaction, I'm glad I never shared it with anyone else. I felt my cheeks grow hot as I heard a small squeal come from her. She glanced at me sheepishly, apologizing.
"I'm sorry. . . I've just never been around so many books before." She began climbing the staircase that moved to the top of the library, her fingers trailing the spines of the books. She glanced at me, "is it okay if I take them out?" She asked, her voice timid.
I gave a laugh, regretting it when I heard it boom around the room. "Of course, Ciel. Why else would I show you this room?" She gave a small laugh, thankfully not scared.
"Well, maybe you show all your prisoners this room, taunting them that they can't read these books." She chuckled, picking out a couple books and placing them under her arm.
I felt a slight sting in my heart, imagining that I had anyone else but her here. "You don't really think I've held others. . .right?"
She glanced back, her brow furrowed. "Well. . . I don't really know. I assume no because you're so awkward. You can't possibly talk to anyone outside this castle." She gave a small laugh. "No, I don't think you've held anyone else here but me and my aunt."
