#5 They cheer you up

~ Pietro/Peter Maximoff - Quicksilver:
He wasn't very good at talking about feelings but whenever you were down he did all he could to see you smile. Jokes, tickles, ice cream or comfort food, anything he could just to see your wonderful smile so he could remind you that pain is only temporary.

~ Kurt Wagner - Nightcrawler:
Kurt didn't always understand why you were sad, but that didn't matter to him. What mattered was that you were and that he had to make sure you were going to be okay. If you were in the mood to talk or not he was there providing you will all you need.

~ (young) Charles Xavier - Professor X:
He never had to ask if you were sad, he could tell, he didn't mean to hear your thoughts but sometimes he couldn't help it, your voice was loud in his mind and he sometimes couldn't tell if you were speaking out loud or not. Needless to say no matter what was bothering you he was always there to offer cuddles or laughs or just nice words to soothe your aching mind.

~ (young) Erik Lehnsherr - Magneto:
His past means he's really not very good at dealing with emotions, and if you were honest, neither were you. Sad could turn to angry and anyone nearby would be in the line of fire, and more often than not you just didn't feel like talking to anyone. He made sure to give you space and make sure you had enough time to chill out and gain control of what you were feeling. He knows you know that he'll be around to talk if you do feel like it though.

~ Hank McCoy - Beast:
He knows how hard it is to put into words what your feeling, so he doesn't expect you to. He just sits with you whispering sweet nothings and holding you close and making sure you know how much you are loved by him and everyone else. With sweet words and warm hands he makes you slowly feel better.

~ Scott Summer - Cyclops
He knows how trapped you can feel when you're in a bad mood, so he takes you outside. He takes you out for walks, no matter the time of day or the weather. Sure you can feel very pissed off when he makes you walk for miles in the rain but he's right, you always feel better at the end of it. Just taking your mind and body elsewhere helps you remember what not feeling like shit feels like and you're always thankful for it.

~ Alex Summers - Havok
Alex never really knows what to say, and he always feels awful when you're in a bad mood so he is always there to protect you. He promises you he's gonna stop you from feeling anymore hurt and he will be the one to stand in front of you to protect you. Cuddles and sweet words and promises to protect you always help and eventually he brings you out of your slump.

~ Bobby Drake - Iceman
He knows how much feeling crappy can make you fixate on the worst things in life so he talks to you. About his day, about the last class he went to, about this new homework assignment he totally cannot do, about little mundane things so that you could listen and not get stuck in your head. He never expects an answer so sometimes you join in and sometimes you just sit and listen, but it always helps to just get out of your own head for a little bit.

~ Ororo Munroe - Storm
She knew how much rain and falling water would calm you when you were in a state. As soon as she knew you were feeling down she would summon a rainstorm and sit with you watching the rain fall. You'd sit by a window or a glass skylight with hot chocolate and just watch the rain fall on the world around you. Sometimes you'd talk and sometimes you wouldn't, it didn't matter because always, always, at the end of it you'd feel so much calmer.

~ Jean Grey
Often it was her that was upset and you were so good at looking after her when she was in a bad way that she always felt like she owed you something back -so when you were having a bad day she would pull out all the stops. Blanket forts, film marathons, popcorn and ready made hot  drinks. Anything to make you better again because you were hers and she loved you so much.

~ Rogue
She knew what you were like when you were down so she kept it simple but sweet. She would make a list of all the things she loved about you with a little note at the end in her messy scrawl: I know you're not feeling too good, but here's a few things that make you the best and I hope maybe you can read them and realise just how much I love you and want you to feel better soon, R xxx

~ Raven - Mystique
Raven knows how defensive you can be about your feelings, although you're usually very good at being honest with each other when you get upset you can be defensive and get even more upset, so she doesn't ask you about it or mention it. She's learnt to know when you're in a bad mood so she'll make dinner without asking you first or wash the dishes without asking, or let you watch what you want on the TV, little things but it's enough to let you know she's realised and to give you a little relief from all you have to do.

~ Wolverine
Like others, wolverine doesn't even know how to deal with his own feelings let alone yours. He's found though, that a foolproof way to make you feel a little better is to sit you down with your favourite album or film on and just hold you in his arms. It helps you know you're safe and loved and he'll always be there for you.

~ Collossus
Colossus is surprisingly sensitive, he knows what it feels like to feel shitty all the time and knows what you like to do to make you feel better. He'll take you outside, deep into nature or just into the gardens, sometimes you'd talk, sometimes you'd just sit in each other's company, sometimes he'd even draw something he can see but he always calms you and lets you know how loved you are and soon you tart to feel better.

~ Azazel
He'll take you to the roof. You'll lie there for hours and bitch about people and places and lie there peacefully looking at the stars and giggling with each other about stupid things. It'll take your mind off stuff that's going on and allow you to just be in your own world with him for a few hours.
