Just A Normal Day of School, Almost

Theo's POV

I saw her walking down the hallway, it was pretty normal, except it just had an aura of weirdness. That was the moment where I had the courage to speak to her like I've been wanting to for a month now. It's even more perfect because of the hallway's deserted, not a single person within sight. It would've been 100% perfect if she hadn't turned around.

"What are you doing here, as in why are you trying to talk to me?" She asked in that bratty tone she's used with me for a month now.

"I wanted to ask you something, and you don't have an option as to not answer me, you've been able to ignore my presence on planet Earth for far too long now," I said with clear urgency and annoyance in my voice.

"Well, are you just going to stand there like the idiot you are or are you going to ask your question?" She clearly sounded annoyed, but I couldn't care less.

"Do you still love me? Clearly, you did at one point, but do you still, is it the reason you've been so cruel to me?"

She went silent for a while, I know I caught her off guard because normally nobody would dare ask the one and only her that question.

"You do don't you?" Now regretting my decision only slightly.

"That's not a yes or a no. It's simply not replying to a question you asked."

"How should I take your prolonged silence though, because the you I used to know would never hesitate to a question like that."

"If you know, or at least knew me, I think you could come up with a decent answer. We've been close enough for you to correctly assume my read-less emotions, you should know your answer."

At that, I grew a new thing to contemplate, although it seemed like she could love me, she never would, because, I mean, I  wouldn't even date me. We loved each other though, enough to keep up together when we picked stupid little fights. She eventually looks like she's hurt because I need to think about it, even though I'm pretty sure I know the answer.

"You do, don't you?" I said with a softer tone this time.

"You know what, never mind, it's not like you're really that interested in what my emotions are to you." She turns to walk away, but I know better than to let her walk away. I go to call her name, but that wouldn't do any good, so I grab her wrist and pull her into a tight hug, one in which she quickly accepts. "I didn't receive enough closure with just an 'I wasn't pleased' and it made me want to have this... whatever this is, intervention, maybe. I just couldn't deal with having this unsaid."

"I wish this was real. Not just fake, like everything here is." She said

"What do you mean, this is real." I quickly replied, letting go of her and looking her in the eye.

"No,  it's not. This is all fake,"  She turns away from me and starts to walk away, "I'm sorry this happened, Theo, I truly am."

And that was when I woke up.
