Garra vs Rai Kataka

Arashi's final teammate grinned, leaping from the railing he'd been sitting on.

Rai looked confident, despite the killing intent being directed at him. Rai was dark skinned with short brown hair, and bright green eyes. He wore a pair of typical cloud ninja shoes, black pants, a red button up shirt, and black trench coat. His grin was wide and he moved with unshakeable confidence in his skill and power.

That's when Naruto noted that his sword wasn't a typical shinobi sword. It was straight bladed but had a slight sure on both sides. The blade was thicker than normal as well. The handle had a round ornate guard made of black chakra conductive steel and the hilt was meant for one hand or both as it was a couple inches short to be a true two handed blade.

Garra appeared in the ring using sand shunshin, leaving his sand all over the floor. "Mother demands your blood..."

"Oh it's that time of the month? I'll be avoiding your mom then, alright? Give all you've got, Tanuki." Rai smirked.

"Begin!"

Garra acted first. Sand tendrils shot out like bullets towards Rai but Rai held a hand up, absorbing them easily.

"Thought so." Shikamaru said from beside Naruto.

"What do you mean? How'd he do that?" Naruto asked. "Does he have a ring like that Arashi guy from their village?"

"No. He's the reason Arashi had it. Arashi is well versed in fuinjutsu, and studied his teammates darkrelease kekkei genkai. What makes it so strong is it allows you to use the jutsu you absorbed easily at the same level of power as the one you absorbed. This guys dangerous because he isn't limited to only absorbing plasma and normal chakra types. Add that to the fact Arashi could have given him his own fuuinjutsu tricks and you've got a very troublesome enemy." Shikamaru crouched and put his hands together, thinking of strategies to fight Rai.

Shikamaru spoke again. "Judging by Garra's physique he is either a ninjutsu or genjutsu user, add in the fact he's got insane levels of chakra and is easily manipulating that sand and you've got one conclusion. This fight was over before it began."

Rai was fast too, not quite as fast as Arashi but he easily weaved past Garra's sand onslaught.

"Try this!" Rai aimed a palm at Garra, showing off a black diamond birthmark with red overlapping it. A ball of blue fire blasted out and slammed into Garra's sand defense.

The sand hand formed a massive shield in front of him but the sand was no match for the blue fire and most of it was turned to glass. Garra's eyes widened in shock as he began drawing sand up from beneath the ground to fight with.

Then Rai flexed his hand and a long destructive whip made of electricity grew from his palm. The lightning crackles and put up the arena as Rai brought his arm down, swinging the deadly attack at Garra's glass shield.

The glass exploded and several pieces cut into Garra's skin. "Wh-whats this feeling?" He touched his chest, where a shard of glass had cut into him. Blood coated his fingers, making the young jinchuriki laugh. "Blood... MY BLOOD! I'VE NEVER SEEN MY BLOOD BEFORE! YOU TRULY WILL PROVE MY EXISTENSE!!!"

Sand rose from beneath the tiles of the floor and surrounded Garra completely.

"C'mon Tanuki, you know the sand won't protect you." Rai flicked his wrist, firing off a wind blast that blew a sizeable chunk of sand away but it regenerated easily. Then Rai waved his arm, unleashing a tidal wave of water that slammed into the shield.

That last jutsu drained a good portion of Rai's reserves but he figured sand would be heavier wet, and also...

He aimed a palm at Garra's shield and jumped. "This is gonna hurt you, way more than me." He gripped his sword just as lightning began pouring from his palm. "Almighty cut!" The sword was drawn and instead of being coated in lightning it began to glow and give off heat.

Tao stabbed the blade into the sand dome and was immediately stabbed in three places by sharp tendrils of sand. Luckily he was quick enough to jump off before too much damage could be done.

Rai s sword was still sticking from the dome and it wasn't moving at all. Suddenly a few pieces crumbled and lightning blasted out from the inside and carved into the wall.

The lightning died and the sand shield fell, leaving a badly burned and unconscious Garra.

"Winner by knockout Rai!"
