Should I break the silence or welcome more of it? I need Katy to be okay, but the mishaps occurring have exhausted all of us.

"Look, we have to go through further inquiry and try not to jump into conclusions. Let's do this for once, Katy, please."

"Cherry for god's sake, it's blindly obvious, there aren't any further explanations!" She said smashing her phone on the bed

She's right though. So right. It's clear as a bell that they have their hands intertwined, and she, that blonde shit had her arm around his waist while burying her head into his neck. And no, that's certainly not the two-legged tie game, so I guess the chemistry between the two might be the exact demonstration of the newsfeed.

I went silent, at such a time, it was somehow useless to say anything, for silence felt too loud.

Louder than screams.

An hour later, we started preparing for work, each for her own business.

I heard Katy's phone ringing several, consecutive times.

"Won't you pick up?" I shot her a glance.

"What for?" she answered me sternly, coldly, "So that I could hear the 'I–really–didn't–mean–to–my–ass' explanation like most of the boyfriends I had up till now?"

I pursed my lips, she was right, and she had the right to be this mad, Katy has already had enough.

But... But....

Part of me, just a small one felt like it couldn't accept such a thing about Leonard Beards.

I tried to, but...

Leonard Beards was the first person to treat me nicely at the company.

His loyalty to Mr.Ellington through all these years, and the latter's 'denied-by-rule' trust of the former shows what the vice president is made off.

Even at times where I needed it, Leonard Beards somehow was never late or tardy.

So why?

Yesterday, he... he didn't feel like a cheater, but rather, I sensed he was forcing himself into something wrong.

I sighed, repeating an inner conversation with my sub-conscious about having to meet Mister disappointment at work.

As I finished drawing my so-on fleek eyeliner I was ready to set off. I gave Katy a tinny tiny hug in order not to give her a chance to make a fuss out of it and tease me for being dramatic.

My Fendi purse was the last thing I grabbed before leaving.

As I reached to the company I had one of two choices:

Either turning the situation between Leo and I into an awkward one by not knowing how to balance between the extremes.

Or give the devil his due.

I decided to go with the second choice.

He saluted me as I passed by his office, but the madness trapped in my heart at the moment made it hard to reply and my ego served a pretty great help. I barely nodded.

Give the devil his due, eh, Char?

My day at work was tedious, my thoughts swung between boredom and the vice-president's scoop.
