Zarvok's POV
"You're not really in command of the rebels here in Exavior are you?" I asked thoughtfully.
"I am in command! After my best friend who was in command saved my life and he sacrificed himself to save a fellow best friend." Justin replied in a short temper.
"Sorry I doubted you; I just don't know who I can trust and who not to trust." I replied to Justin.
"It's okay; we must hurry before they go on patrol."
"Before who goes on patrol?" I asked confusingly.
"The creatures." Justin replied in a hurry.
We started to run in a hurry there was five of us total, they had my sword but they were equipped with bows, swords, and axes, with some heavy armor, except I with just very light clothes so I move quick and swiftly.
"What do the creatures look like? How far away is your hideout, because if we don't get their soon we will have to find a place to hide for the night." I questioned
"I have seen these creatures in the heat of battle. They have what looked like golden armor stronger than the best armor we have ever made; they are almost unable to be defeated. They are very tall, their heads are in the shape of looked like some sort of demon-"
"At least a couple miles." One of the rebels interrupted.
"Anyway they are tall, their heads are indescribable of sort of demon, their armor is golden, they wear their armor that covers all parts of their body, not a piece of skin or flesh is shown. But that was in the plains way south of here, I think they are smart enough to change their armor that gives them the advantage to each surroundings. " Justin was explaining to me in great detail.
"It sounds like they are hard to defeat and I never thought that they were that advanced. Hopefully we won't run into any on the way to our destination. It would be best and logical to find a place to hide now for the night, because if we do now we will make plans and back up escape routes if we do get found either way I am finding a place for the night whether you are coming with me or not." I told Justin and his men.
"True. Alright give back Zarvok's sword." Justin told one of his men. "How well trained are you with your sword." Justin asked me.
"By the best my old friend, even if they are old ways from over a generation ago. Which is good in my opinion because people learn from the ways of this generation new things to try to surprise your enemy or you can learn the old ways that most people forgot and then surprise those who oppose you."
"You seem wise and well taught."
"From the best Justin."
We found a small abandoned house for the night. We were all taking shifts in the night, very short shifts since nothing ever happened.
"Wake up!" I whispered loudly.
"What is it?" Justin asked me.
"I think there is a sandstorm coming."
"That's not going to be good."
"What are sandstorms really that bad here?"
Justin gave me an indescribable look that dealt with fear and a terrifying but courageous look.
"We're going to have to race a sandstorm." One of Justin's men said.
"Well isn't that dandy." I sarcastically said to myself. "So how far did you say your base was?"
"A few more miles," Justin replied.
"If we get stuck in the sandstorm how likely will we make it?" I asked.
"I'm not sure; all I know is that we have to move quickly and that we will have some chance of survival." Justin replied.
We ran for what felt like hours, I stopped and looked behind me to see Justin and his men catching up and that it wasn't a sandstorm going through the area. I could not describe what was happening, it looked what I could see was tall creatures that were on some type of floating machinery that has not been invented yet. Lost for words I stopped pointed at what I wanted to think was a mirage and started mumbling.
"Crap!!!" Justin screamed aloud.
"I take it those are some of the creatures. It looks like you were right they do have different armor to adapt themselves. How many does it look like there is? I think depending on how many we can take them on and win this fight." I told them.
"It looks like there is five or six." One of Justin's men answered.
"Actually there are six creatures." Justin answered strangely calmly.
"How are you so calm? I'm calm too but on the verge to flip out." I asked Justin.
"Because we're not fighting them." He answered.
"What the heck are you talking about? We have some fighting chance five on six, they have the upper hand but we can defeat them no matter how hard the challenge may be." I told them gallantly.
"To you Zarvok there is ten of us and one of you." Justin shockingly told me.
"Wait, what?" I asked who I thought was my friend.
"I have to do what is best for my people, in order to protect my people I have to join sides with the winning team. Did you really think my friend sacrificed himself to save me? I killed him because he wouldn't join and help myself and our people." Justin told me.
"You really think they will help you? When their done with you they will destroy Exavior and kill all of whom you think are your people." I tried to persuade him.
"No you are wrong! I will save my people from their greatest fear; I will help them by joining who you think is the enemy when they can help us."
"Help destroy ourselves! If it wasn't for them we would still be peaceful there would be less fear there would be elves and dwarves. For all we know the creatures killed the dwarves and elves, men are the last chance to save our world. Ever since they came there has been war for weeks this seems to have no end. Innocent people have died who have done nothing wrong. You have joined the side who will be defeated and the one who has betrayed your very own people." I was telling him what I knew will be the truth.
"When they get here you will have no escape, they will take you and do what they please with you. They will do you harm on so many levels."
"You three will you help me? If we make it out of here we can all be a team and defeat the creatures one by one. We can be heroes... we will be heroes." I tried to persuade them.
"I'm in I will help you. My name is George." George stated.
"Anyone else who want to join us?" I asked the rest of them.
"Yes we all will join you. You seem like a great leader, I hope your words are as great as your skills with your sword." One of my new men tells me as the other two walk behind me.
"This is your last chance; will you join us and help us defeat the true evil?" I asked Justin with one last attempt.
"You are all fools the creatures will capture and kill you all slow and painfully." Justin gruesomely told us.
"Look we will hold the creatures and Justin off for a while, if you want to make it alive you will have to get on one of the creatures machines and leave without us." George whispered to me.
"I can't leave you guys not with what I just said." I told them.
"That little speech earlier already made me switch sides." George told me. "You will become the strongest courageous leader there ever will be."
"Thank you. I hope you will make it. I have a score to settle with my old friend though." I told him.
