Fyrus' POV
"Clear a table for the king lay him down." Fyrus told the medics. "How strong are his wounds?"
"The king will be fine just minor injuries but we will be able to stop the pain." One of the medics answered Fyrus.
"Dad-"
"Don't call me dad Fyrus. You must call me King Charlemagne and you will have to change your name so people won't realize you are my son." Charlemagne told and interrupted Fyrus.
"Okay da-King Charlemagne. What is this war about? How has the kingdom been?"
"So many questions, I have plenty for you as well. You know how there were stories about who created us? Well those stories were about who created us and I think those who did create us came back for some reason. The kingdom has been doing well until this bloody war came about."
"That's a mighty thought, you really think that those who did create us are coming back and just killing us?"
"Yes I do. I know it sounds crazy but it is a thought. We need someone to get more information about these creatures."
"I will take on this quest and you need to rest. I will come back when I have some more information about these creatures. It seems like your losing this battle I will help your soldiers until the end of this battle, after the end of this battle I will leave and search for more information about these creatures. I will come back to see you before I leave."
"You just found me after all these years and you're already leaving."
"Rest King Charlemagne I will be back to give you information about the battle."
Fyrus helped the soldiers that were about to die when the creature was about to do the final blow in the soldier Fyrus would kill the creature by using his magic and striking it in the back of the head. The battle lasted for nights, Fyrus saved most of the soldiers that were about to die he would get there to late but would avenge the fallen friend. The remaining creatures retreated into the mountains, most of them were injured but few were fine.
"King Charlemagne the battle was successful the creatures are retreating into the mountains and forests. Shall I tell our men to come and rest?" Brai asked his father.
"You don't even have a ranking in the military system. Good job, we could not have won this battle without you help sir. I take it that you saved a lot of men this night, well done." King Charlemagne complemented his son.
"It was nothing king Charlemagne. A lot of men will be able to see their family's once again. Except that I was not able to save some men." Brai explained to his father.
"It is okay sir. As long as you saved at least some men and helped us win this long bloody battle. I have gathered you supplies and some armor for your long journey ahead of you."
"Thank you king Charlemagne. Is there anything I should know in my absence? It could help me a long my journey."
"Yes there is a lot to tell you, let's go to my private room in the castle."
"Dad how has it been here? It looks like you were very successful until those creatures came about. How long have they been hear?" Fyrus asked his father.
"Everything was peaceful here with the exception of few outlaws here and there. The creatures have been here for who knows how long. They seem to know what they are up against except for you as if they have never knew you existed or your abilities. They seem to know about all of our weaknesses except you of course."
"Interesting. Based on the facts that you have just told me... they must have been here a lot longer than we knew. I have not seen any of them in mountains or the barren-wasteland you banished me to. I left that freaking place and headed to the mountains miles over and made a tunnel system that goes toward the inner mountain like a castle in my mind. If you do ever get over run here tell your people to head to the mountains, I'm sure they still haven't gone up there yet."
"Didn't you say earlier the creatures were retreating into the forests and the mountains?"
"I did but where I made my base what I call it, is very well hidden. You have to go through a maze and find a hidden marking press it and it opens a secret door."
"If we did ever get over run how would my people navigate through the maze and find the secret marking?"
"That's the only thing I left clues on for the right path but the symbol is actually the seal of royalty you made. But you're the only other person who can navigate through the maze other than me because most of the clues are from royalty and the dynasties of our blood. Here let me draw the seal to jog your memory because this one is the one that when you gave me a seal that was your great grandfather or something like that.
"Ah yes, I remember that now!" It was an old sketch of a crown embezzled with crosses and hearts in it; proving that this kingdom is loyal and powerful.
