First Of All, Who Are You? I am high school student who mostly writes short stories. I have always liked to write, but I began to put more focus on my work this year. I developed some pieces and I was accepted to the 2017 New England Young Writers' Conference. It was a great conference and I have regained my passion for writing. When I am not writing, I love to play soccer, basketball, and football (Go New York Jets!).
What Is Your Book "Jacob's Running Shoes" About? Jacob's Running Shoes is a realistic-fiction short story that takes place in a poor suburban area. Jacob is a six-year-old boy who does something unusual: He wears his shoes while he sleeps. When Jacob is asked why, he responds, "If the monsters come, I can run away." This sounds cute to adults, but Jacob knows that these monsters are real and dangerous. He also understands that they could come at any moment.
