jeongguk never minded the news, a horde of media filled with unknown truths and lies, but he did not like whatever was being displayed on his t.v. when he looked at it.
he was leisurely laying on his alabaster couch, staring at the screen in front of him. his legs were crossed as his back was cushioned by a pillow, feet dangling from the furniture. his hair was parted to the side, a blank expression sewed on his face, though it was like that almost all the time. he was adorned with a white t-shirt, accompanied with black pants, the color imitating that of a raven's feathers. anyone who saw him at the moment would believe that he looked almost like a languid god, bored with earth and its questionable inhabitants.
the t.v. was rambling endlessly on politics and such. he never liked such topics. in fact, it irritated him; he was never a big fan of driftless rumors that appeared almost out of nowhere, much less a fan at all, and he didn't like spreading those controversies around like some sort of toy. he scowled at the thought of it, bringing a bitter taste to him, showing obvious signs that he was not cheerful about it.
the subject changed though, the screen moving on from politics to a much more calm subject, in jeongguk's opinion. his harsh look settled down as he heard the reporter update the citizens on the latest news so far.
"further more, and not unexpectedly, jeon jeongguk has yet again made another huge deal with park jimin, benefiting the duo greatly! both artists are equally happy with their choice, and we hope to to see them like this for a considerable amount of time."
jeongguk scoffed harshly at the fake excitement in the reporter's voice. anyone could easily detect that she wanted to simply go home and relax. it was easy for jeongguk; he could just tell whether a person was lying or not, and it seemed that the announcer was simply bored out of her life. he focused his attention more on the words that she had spoken before instead. a trade had indeed happened, with him giving another one of his art pieces to jimin. the male, as short as he was, always was able to lend a shoulder at times, earning valuable trust from jeongguk, something that was as rare as him grinning.
shutting off the t.v. and feeling satisfied enough with the news, he grabbed the glass from the miniscule stool that laid itself next to the marble table. he circled the cap of the wine container before gripping it and popping it open, filling the glass with a cherry-colored liquid. it was almost as if he was attracted towards the liquid, and it wasn't much of a surprise either; considering his high tolerance, he held boxes of them in his basement to drink as he saw fit.
he downed the drink, letting out a refreshing sigh as he set the glass aside, calling out to one of his head maid. "i'll be out for a few moments. i'm taking a walk. you're in charge for the meanwhile."
he grabbed his coat that hung lazily on the coat rack and headed out the door after hurrying to put on his shoes. the frigid air blew against his body with no intention of sending mercy to his skin anytime soon. he began walking along the sidewalk, making up his destination to be the park. as he trod along the path he memorized, he suddenly began to think of his future. would he continue to be the person he is now? would people still think of him as a role model? would he fade like dust over the years and be forgotten? the seemingly endless questions clouded his mind, making him unsure of his unpredictable fate.
he sighed, brushing it away; thinking too much about what would happen tomorrow would waste away today, and he wanted to live life to his fullest.
he reached the park in no time at all. there, he saw couples roaming around the area, holding hands and giving cheeky smiles to each other every now and then. he truly did envy them. even though he was successful in business terms, he still longed for a partner to share his experiences with. he admitted that loneliness would indeed take a toll on him sooner or later.
