Chapter 4

MAY

The weekend went by smoothly, Devon dropped off Jazmine Sunday night and I can tell she was worn out cause she was sleeping in his arms. He told me he was gonna take her out again next weekend and he even tried to persuade me to come but I wasn't having it.

Luckily I didn't have a class this morning but I still had to take Jazmine to school. I told her I was gonna take her to the park and the ice cream shop after school since she was getting out early today and she was excited about that like any other child would be.

Even though I didn't have the money to spoil my daughter like I wanted to but I did what I could to put a smile on her face, and plus I wanted us to have a close relationship like me and my mother have.

After I took Jazmine to school, i went back home and decided to do a little studying since I had the free time. I loved and hated school at the same time. I had two papers to write plus I decided to get a tutor to help me out with world history. I didn't understand why I had to take world history if I was planing on becoming a counselor. But I had to do what I had to do.

A hour had went by and it was like my brain couldn't comprehend what I was reading. I read and read through the passages but I still didn't get what was being said. So I decided to stop "studying" and turn on the tv instead.

Nothing interesting was on, so I turned it off and turned on the radio instead. Power 106 was one of my favorite radio stations next to 94.7 The Wave. My favorite song came on and I decided to sing along to it

"I got my eyessss on you, you're everything that I seeeeee I want your hot love and emotion endlesslyyyy."

I had to stop cause I was scarring myself when I heard how horrible I was singing. I looked at the clock and it was almost time for me to go pick up Jazmine.

I grabbed my jacket and my phone and left the house.

"Mommy are we still going to the park?" Jazmine asked

"Yes baby we are." I answered

"And we're still getting ice cream too?" Jazmine asked

"Mhmm." I said

"Yayyy this is the best day ever!!" Jazmine said with excitement

I smiled when I saw how excited Jazmine was. I was taking her to Darby Park which was close to where I lived.

I should of brought a water bottle because by the time I go to the park I was very exhausted. I sat on the bench in the shaded area and it was perfect for me to keep an eye on Jazmine while she played.

The business meeting went great, all I needed to do was to come up with a business plan, and my brother Andrew was gonna help me with that but I had to do something for him. And that was to watch his son Michael my nephew.

But I didn't have a problem doing that. I loved kids and watching Michael would be perfect parenting training for me.

I decided to take Michael to Darby park which was the only park in Inglewood then afterwards were gonna get some pizza from Costco.

We were in my car and I was bumping music and I saw him bobbin his head back and forth like I would do.

"Boy what you know about this music?" I asked

He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, I just like the best." He said with a smile.

Michael was one of the cutest boy I ever seen. And he was such a gentlemen too, my brother and his wife was raising him right.

To me I felt like my brother had the perfect life. He had a wife who loved him (and who was fine as hell) he had a adorable kid and he had a career which he loved. I looked up to my brother a lot, he was my inspiration.

He always told me that I was doing good for someone my age. I had my own condo, I worked with my brother and I was a tutor at El Camino, and now I was gonna have my own group home.

"Aunty AJ are we almost there?" Michael asked me.

"We're already here sweetie." I said as I parked my car.

We both got out the car and Michael went running to the play area.

"Stay where I can see you Michael." I yelled out to him.

I walked over to the shaded area. It was a little too hot today, but that was your typical California weather.

I watched a couple of some of the women jog by. There was one in particular who had a nice big booty in those jogging pants. She then bend down and I was so tempted to go over and slapped that ass, she stood up and looked at me an smiled. I was gonna go over there to ask for her number but then I heard Michael's voice.

I looked over and I saw that he was having a dispute with some little girl. I went over to him to see what was going on.

"What seems to be the problem little buddy?" I asked

"Auntie AJ she won't give me back my toy." Michael said.

"It's not yours it's mine!" The little girl said.

"Now I know for a fact that, that isn't your toy Michael." I said

"But I found it." Michael said

"I lost it and I was looking for it." The little girl said.

"Hey how about you ask her if you could play with the toy?" I said

"Can I play with your toy?" Michael asked.

"All you had to do was ask." The little girl said.

"Whats going on here?" A woman said.

I turned around and I couldn't believe. It was the same woman from the Diner.

"Oh it was nothing, they were arguing about something but it's good now." I said

"Oh.... Ok." May said.

"May is it?" I asked

"Huh?" May said.

"You're name is May right?" I asked.

"Umm yes. How do you know my name?" May asked

"You're a waitress at the diner. I was there two days ago." I said

"Oh, I think I remember you. I'm not sure though, I see a lot of faces there so please forgive me." May said.

"Oh it's no problem. My name is AJ by the way." I said as I put my hand out for her to shake.

"Nice to meet you AJ." May said as she shook my hand. "Do you and your son come here all the time?"

"Oh Michael isn't my son, he's my nephew and we don't really come here a lot. I was just watching him for today." I said

"He's your nephew? You guys look alike." May said

"Yeah well me and brother look alike as well so he gets his good looks from us." I said with a smirk.

May giggled "Well is that beautiful little girl your daughter, cause if she is I can see where she gets her good looks from." I said.

"Well she is and thank you" May said

"You're welcome. Well I gotta get going. I guess I'll see you around." I said.

"It was nice meeting you AJ." May said

"It was nice meeting you too." I said with a smile.

I called Michael's name and he came running towards me. We both got in the car and drove off. I couldn't help but think about May, she was one fine ass girl. But she wasn't gay so I shouldn't be wasting my time thinking about her.
