5-year-old Lucy
Lucy looked out the window and to the sea, sighing in wonder. The blue waves splashed against the sandy shore and she smiled,
"I wish Fairy Tail would come today..." She laughed and ran from the pink bedroom, straight for her mother's own room. She was about to push open the door when her father came up the steps, his eyes filled with tears,
"Lucy! Don't go in there!" Lucy frowned and looked at her father,
"Why not daddy?" Jude hesitated for a second and sighed with sadness,
"Fairy Tail came last night...and they killed your mother." Lucy's eyes widened and tears filled her small brown eyes,
"Mommy is gone?" Jude nodded and started to head towards the stairs. He looked at his daughter in pity before he walked down the steps and to the downstairs kitchen where the royal army was. Tears fell down Lucy's face and she ran back into her bedroom, throwing herself onto her well-made bed and wept. She cried and screamed until her throat was raw. She heard the waves slap against the shore and looked out the window with tear-crusted eyes,
"Why did you do it Fairy Tail...?"
18-year-old Lucy
Lucy opened her eyes and groaned at the sunlight shining through her window. She looked over at her clock and sighed,
"I'm going to get in trouble again if I don't get ready..." Lucy rolled off of her bed and walked to her closet, she felt like it was going to be a good day so she wore her favorite white flannel. She rolled up the sleeves to her elbows and put on a pair of brown pants with black laced up boots on over the pants. And to finish off the look, she tied up her long blonde hair into a ponytail. She looked into the mirror and smiled,
"You look amazing as always Lucy!" Lucy sighed to herself and walked out of the room. She roamed through town for a few minutes, greeting the people and finally made it to her workplace, the Marines. Their job was to catch pirates and put them where they belonged; jail. Lucy walked into her boss's office and smiled politely at him,
"Good you finally made it on time Lucy. There are some rumors that Fairy Tail has docked somewhere around here." Lucy's eyes shone with excitement and she bowed slightly, excusing herself.
"I'm going to get you this time...Fairy Tail."
19-year-old Natsu
Natsu looked around the surrounding area, looking for Marines before he called the ship to be docked. He looked down both streets and smiled at his second in command,
"Dock the ship Erza!" The red headed woman nodded her head with a smile and motioned for her crewmate, Gajeel, to dock the boat. Gajeel was a large man with long black hair held in check by a white and brown headband, he nodded and steered the boat to the shore. Once Gajeel and Erza were able to tie up the boat, the lookout, Gray, tied up the sails so that nobody would recognize the ship and try to board it. Natsu jumped onto the ground and looked around with a wide grin on his face,
"Wow. It feels good to be back on land!" Gray nodded and threw a white t-shirt at Natsu.
"Yeah. And on land, it is normal to wear a shirt, captain." Natsu looked down at his bare chest and laughed, putting the t-shirt on.
"I'm just so used to not wearing one." Gray nodded and the four pirates made their way to Magnolia. The one place that the Marines wanted their heads. Natsu normally had to stay on the ship because he was easy to spot, but the crew thought it was a good idea to go once. But his normal carefree demeanor was replaced with a more serious and concentrated one, he was observant of everything so that the Marines wouldn't recognize him and take his crew to be killed. The group walked into a shop and Natsu nodded at them to get what they needed,
"Only what we need...I'll stay outside." Erza nodded and as she was walking by him, she whispered in his ear,
"Keep your head low. That pink hair of yours is going to get us killed one day." Natsu nodded and grabbed an apple from his pocket.
"I know. Now hurry up." Erza walked into the shop and Natsu took a bite of his apple. To people walking by, it would look like Natsu was standing outside a shop enjoying an apple, but he was really scanning the crowd from under his green headband. His eyes swept over the people walking past when he spotted a beautiful woman with blond hair walking towards him. He relaxed his posture and took another bite of his apple. She pulled out a flier of Natsu and his crew, their faces blotted out since they didn't actually know what the crew looked like, and pointed at it,
"Excuse me, sir? Have you seen the Fairy Tail crew around these parts?" Natsu held in a grin and looked up slightly, still covering his eyes,
"No, ma'am. I thought that they didn't come onto land much?" The woman rolled up the flier and frowned,
"They don't, but they need to sometimes to get more provisions." Natsu nodded, taking another bite of his apple. The woman frowned at him and Natsu stuck his free hand in his pocket,
"Do I know you from somewhere?" Natsu threw his apple into a trash bin near him while shaking his head,
"No, ma'am. I'm just passing through. I've never been to Magnolia before." She nodded and looked down to his hip where his sword was,
"Why do you have a sword? Didn't you know it's illegal to carry a sword if you're not a Marine?" Natsu nodded his head,
"Yes, I did. But like I said, I'm just passing through. I don't want any trouble." She frowned.
'Crap' Natsu thought, 'If she doesn't leave me alone, something'll slip.'
"What's your name?" Natsu grinned and looked up at her face, showing barely a sliver of his green eyes,
"Shouldn't the lady introduce herself first?" She crossed her arms across her chest before answering,
"I am Lucy Heartfilia of the Marines." Natsu clenched his fist in his pocket but put on a smile. He was in trouble if she figured out who he was,
"Nice to meet you milady. The names Igneel." Lucy frowned as Natsu stuck his hand out,
"Unusual name." Natsu nodded with a chuckle. He took her hand and shook it firmly,
"My father had a weird taste when naming me I guess..." Lucy nodded and walked away,
"Sorry for taking your time Igneel. I'll be going now, but please let the Marines know if you hear something about the Fairy Tail pirates." Natsu nodded and gave her a farewell salute,
"Sure thing ma'am." He put his hand down and scoffed,
"Like I'll rat out my own crew." The door to the shop opened allowing Erza, Gray, and Gajeel to walk out with bags and crates of supplies. Natsu grabbed a bag and slung it over his shoulder, walking back to the ship.
"Any trouble captain?" Erza looked at Natsu with a questioning look. Natsu shook his head,
"No trouble at all..."
