A Pirate Tail

Chapter 14

Lucy walked up and stood next to Natsu,

"It was a mistake for you to mess with us Loki." She smiled and drew her sword, "Now you have to deal with the both of us." Loki frowned in frustration before taking a slow breath, 

"Very well then. I will kill the both of you." Natsu glared at Loki as a light smile played across his lips, 

"Well, since you're going to get serious then I guess I should too. You are going to be the only person who has ever seen this power other than the Fairy Tail pirates." His grin deepened and something started happening to his sword. Lucy watched in awe as the sword started turning red, as if it was too hot, then burst into flames. Loki staggered back, confusion written all over his face, 

"W-what's happening?!" Natsu laughed as Lucy looked at the flaming sword with wonder in her eyes, 

"I have the ability to use fire, to catch weapons on fire and..." Natsu brought one of his hands up as it burst into flames, "I also have the ability to catch parts of my body on fire." Loki laughed in disbelief, 

"There's no way." He laughed louder and grinned, "I thought that the legend of the Dragneels was just that, a legend." A smile spread across Lucy's face, 

"I did too!" Natsu turned his head slightly in her direction, 

"Sorry I didn't tell you sooner, the subject just didn't come up." Lucy shook her head, 

"I don't even care! That's awesome!" Natsu chuckled and turned back to Loki,

"Good to hear. You ready to shut up Loki?" Loki laughed and ran forward with his sword in front of him, 

"You're the one who is going to shut up Dragneel." Lucy stepped back from the fight, not wanting to get in Natsu's way, but she kept an eye on Loki to see if he would do something that would hurt someone. Her brown eyes tracked everything that Natsu and Loki did when they fought, their sword strokes, their stances, their facial expressions. Anything that would help Natsu win. Everyone else on the ship was handling themselves well against their own opponents, even little Wendy and Romeo. But while everyone was fighting, an unknown person boarded the ship and snuck up behind Natsu, completely avoiding Lucy's sharp eyes. They jumped forward and cut Natsu's side, missing their target. Natsu was able to jump out of the way and landed heavily on his left leg since his right was still damaged from Loki's gun. He held his now bleeding side and glared at the newcomer, 

"Who are you?" The person smiled and shrugged, 

"What does it matter to y-" They raised their head up and stopped speaking, stopped moving. Natsu frowned, recognising the voice, 

"What's your name?!" His glare deepened and he took a small step forward, not wanting to hurt his knee further, "Answer me now. Are you working with Loki?" The man shook his head and a small smile spread across his face, 

"No, the marines are an enemy to me as they are to you." The man sighed and ran a hand through their short red hair, looking back at Loki who was frozen in place, 

"You...you should be dead. This isn't possible!" The man sighed and kicked Loki in the face, knocking him out instantly. Natsu looked at them in shock then to Lucy who had run over to him, putting her hands on his face, 

"Are you ok Natsu?" Natsu nodded his head, not taking his eyes off of the man, 

"I'm fine Luce." The man put a hand to his heart and bowed to Natsu slightly, 

"If I may ask, could I ask your captain if I could stay on your ship? I'm trying to find someone and I don't have a ship of my own." Natsu stood up straighter, 

"I am the captain. And you may stay on the ship as long as you don't pose a threat to my crew." The man's head snapped up and Lucy caught a glimpse of black eyes, 

"Captain huh? Thank you, and I am a friend. You do not need to worry about your crew, I swear on my life as a pirate." Natsu nodded. He was about to say something, but before a word could come out of his mouth, the whole world spun. He put a hand to his head and put his free hand on Lucy's shoulder for support,

"Are you ok Captain?" Natsu looked down and expected to see Lucy, but there were three of her. He shook his head and closed his eyes, 

"I d-don't know..." The world tilted again and Natsu fell to the deck, letting darkness consume him.

As Natsu fell to the ground, a small gasp escaped Lucy's lips. She was about to reach down and help him but the man got there first. He picked Natsu up as Natsu's head rested on the man's chest. 

"H-hey!" The man turned to her and smiled, 

"It's ok. Can you show me where your doctor is? Your captain needs immediate medical attention." Lucy's eyes widened as she nodded and walked down the stairs into Wendy's room. She opened the door and smiled at the small blue haired girl inside, 

"Hey, Wendy, Natsu's in bad condition. Can you please help him?" Wendy nodded and looked behind Lucy to the man who was holding Natsu, 

"Who's that?" Lucy shrugged, 

"I don't know. He won't tell us his name." Wendy took a step forward and realized the man was standing there in shock, 

"This day is full of surprises, huh?" He walked into the room and set Natsu on Wendy's bed so that she could help him. 

"I'm going to go on deck." He turned around and walked away as Lucy looked at him in confusion, 

"I wonder who he is and why he wanted to stay on the ship." Wendy nodded with a frown, grabbing bandages, 

"Yeah me too." Lucy turned back to Wendy with slight confusion, 

"Hey, if you have healing magic then why do you use normal medical things?" Wendy smiled, 

"Well, there's two reasons for that. First, there's someone on the ship that I don't know if we can trust and if Natsu just suddenly gets better then he'll be suspicious. And the second reason is that I can't use my magic too much, it takes way too much energy for me to be able to use it too many times. Same thing with Natsu, if he uses his fire too much then he won't have enough strength to do anything for a few days." Lucy smiled, 

"Ahh, that makes sense." She looked down to Natsu with a frown, 

"Do you think that Natsu is going to be ok? He's been through a lot the past few days." Wendy nodded and laughed,

"Yeah, he'll be fine. It looks bad but trust me when I say that he's had worse." Lucy smiled and sighed, 

"That makes me feel better." Wendy smiled, 

"Good, glad I could help."
