I was sitting alone in the studio with my guitar in my hands as I was strumming along to a tune I had stuck in my head. I had a pen between my teeth and a piece of paper in front of me with some lyrics I had been working on. I had been here everyday for the past two days recording new music and I finally had a little time to myself to work on writing more. Everyone else had left so when I heard the door to the room I was sitting in open, I knew who it had to be.

"Travis wasn't kidding when he said that you're always working," I heard a sweet voice say.

I looked up and smiled with then pen still between my teeth. I took it out from between my lips before pulling a stool out for Kendall to sit in front of me.

"These songs aren't going to write themselves. I gotta make a living somehow," I chuckled, "It's good to see you."

"You too. I've been waiting for you to ask me out." she said as she sat down.

I smirked slightly, "So is this a date?"

She blushed slightly, "I'll let you know at the end."

I laughed, "Alright, fair enough."

It had been two days since I last saw Kendall at the party and we had been texting ever since then. I invited her down to the studio today so we could hang out.

"Listen to this and tell me what you think, keep in mind it's not finished yet and I think I still have some kinks to work out and I-"

"Y/N just sing, I'll love it."

I gave a slight nod and a smile before I started strumming my guitar and singing the few lyrics I had so far.

So if I love you
It'd be just for you
So when I'm touching you
Can I trust in you
Can I trust in you, oh baby

Girl, come show me your true colors
Paint me a picture with your true colors
These are the questions of a new lover
True colors, true colors
Girl, come show me your true colors
Paint me a picture with your true colors
These are confessions of a new lover
True colors, true colors

I would glance up at the girl in front of me every so often to catch her watching me with great intensity. Her stare made my heart race. I tried to focus on my fingers moving on my guitar to distract me from my racing heart but it barely worked.

When I finished, I looked up at her and she was grinning from ear to ear, "That was amazing l, Y/N. I can't wait to hear it when it's all done."

I smiled widely, "Thanks, Ken. I've been working on it for the past two days. This one is going to be really important to me so I want to make sure I take my time with it."

"I think it will be perfect. I hope I get my own little listening party."

I chuckled lightly as I set my guitar down,"I think I can arrange that. I'll give you your own private concert."

We laughed together before I spoke again, "So want to get out of here?"

She nodded as we both stood up and walked out of the studio together. I had a good feeling about this one.  She was going to be good for me.
