Chapter 2
The stunning blue sky was refreshing this morning. It was sunrise now and the beautiful rays of light made the meadow looked like a safe haven. It made the leaves and blades of grass glow. Along making the special flower which grey widspread on the land named; Anemone nemorosa, glow with a tint of silvery shade to it.
Most pack wolves were sleeping, some restless, some having nightmares, but most having peaceful night long sleeps. Sandalio had just awoken and noticed nobody was awake. His silvery pelt lightly got brushed by the refreshing breeze. On the tips of his mouth, a ghostly hint of a smile was playing at his sides.
He stealthily padded towards the small Blue Rock Lake. The Blue Rock Lake was named after the huge big, blue rock which had a smooth ledge to it. He loped quietly towards it, not making a single sound. Sandalio quickly jumped on the ledge and landed with a soft thud. He then jumped to his right, where all the Anemone nemorosa flowers grew, and swam/crawled into the huge, never ending field.
He quickly found his super favorite spot and grinned a wolfy-grin. The place was beautiful. The sky over here was utterly amazing. Different tints of colors in the skies, blending together as silk. Orange, yellow, red, blue and purple-ish grey. The sun still didn't fully come out but was looking like it was attempting to. The Anemone nemorosa was very little here and was replaced by a fresh botch of green, lush grass.
He clawed at the floor and grinned once again. The trees here were hollow trees and made this place seem only for him. The hollow trees curved and made it like an oval shape, with the blended sky above him, and soft lushy green grass under him. This place was him home, and I mean home. He clawed once again the floor, it looked like he was waiting for someone and was soon going to loose his patience. The sun had now risen a little more and seemed to have gave a more bright blue effect to the place.
By now, everyone will be awake. Sandalio thought bitterly. He paced around the spot and waited for what seemed eternity but in reality, it was just seconds. He quickly got impatient and picked up a small rock and clawed it hastily. Showing a sign of Later we meet.
He had learned how to carve stories in bones, and how to read the messages, but in reality, there was so much more to learn. Sandalio had found in unfair to make stories so easily but interpret them so hard. He complained every time he had a class with an old, wise wolf named Bardou. Now the elder wolf was patient and found Sandalio's impatience very funny.
Sandalio found it irritating. He had come to an age where a puppy would ask a lot of questions, get impatient, and get very dominant. Half of this was because of Alpha blood and most of it was because of his dear, short puphood. The elders yearn to have their puphood back because, when you are a pup, you barely have anything to worry about.
Sandalio huffed and then swiftly got out off the spot. He rushed over to the pack square, where the pack usually crowds up and gossips around and hangs out, and tried to act normal. Soon he saw a mud pile and quickly rushed over to it. Before he could put his paw on it, someone sweetly but firmly told him something he wanted to avoid.
"And what do you think you are doing, young Chann?" Bardou asked, chuckling but it sounded like he was gasping and wheezing. His brown, muddy fur matched with his forest green eyes. His fur reminded Sandalio about the bark of trees and his green eyes about those sharp, lush green leaves. Bardou's scent was so fresh and natural but now his scent was a little less noticable because of his age.
When elders become older, their scent kind of fades away and a new one errupts, except the new one is like, if a wolf's scent was minty then when they get older, their scent turns into an expired kind of minty scent, not so appetizing but the mate of that wolf still loves their mates smell. Now Bardou's scent was like a forest dying, leaves burning so technically, his scent was ashes down the drain.
"Uh! Your scent has become weird!" Sandalio exasperated. He scrunched up his snout and looked up at Bardou, who was now laughing but soon turned serious again.
"What were you doing with the mud?" Bardou asked, this time with amusement to his voice. His light, green eyes sparkling in the sunlight. Sandalio frowned and nervously replied.
"I- I was, you know, making sure the mud isn't poisonous. It's just re-checking, thats all." Sandalio looked at the ground and pawed the ground, making bits of dirt fly here and there. His silvery fur glowed in the sunlight.
"Hmm... Go on. Jump in the mud before someone sees!" Bardou chuckled, but it sounded like coughing, and padded away with his muddy colored fur shining. Sandalio grinned a wolfy-grin and jumped and played in the mud.
He played and pawed and rolled over in the mud. Soon he was covered in deep brown mud. His dark sea blue eyes glinting, and standing out. His mother padded over and flinched. She growled and raised an eyebrow.
"And what do you think you are doing?" she asked sharply. Everyone's head turned towards the two, because the Alpha female had used her authority voice. A few seconds, there was a crowd crowding around them but keeping a fair distance.
Sandalio smiled sheepishly, with his pure white canines showing and standing out in all of that muddy fur. Bodolf, his father, came and chuckled his deep laugh and grinned at his son. His mother just glared at the two.
"Time to take a shower then." Lowell barked. Sandalio whined and whimpered and followed his mother, respectfully. When Lowell took Sandalio to the bathing hole, she pushed him in.
The bathing hole was a special area used for weekly showers. Wolves in this pack were a little civilized and took showers once a week. It wasn't really a hole but a magnificent, mini waterfall. It was used once a week so the wolves were kept clean and their fur was always shining.
Sandalio and all the other pups, except the females, were always complaining to their mothers, about how showers were not needed for their 'awesomeness'.
"But Mom! I'm too fabulous to go in there! My fur is shining with mud on it!" Sandalio whined, tugging at his mothers ear playfully.
"Ok. Well you will get stinky. Now fabulous wolves don't get stinky now do they?" Lowell teased him, laughing at her own 'joke'.
Suddenly Sandalio was pushed into the water. He yelped and yelped but Lowell laughed.
"That'll teach you a lesson for going into the mud. Now clean yourself up." Lowell ordered and then padded away to her own chores. Sandalio mimicked her rudely and then started playing in the water, splashing at all the other male cubs inside. Soon the splashing became into a water fun war.
