**UNA'S POV**

Why oh why was it always like this. I'd find peace or at least try and be able to stay completely perfect until something came and broke me a part. This guy, who had attacked me, he was the thing that broke me a part. I felt lost now, as everyone's eyes were on me.

"Uh.. hey guys," I said, scratching my neck, "I saw a really big spider in the thing and I kind of freaked out?"

Everyone slowly nodded, believing me, everyone except H. His eyes narrowed on me but it switched quickly and he gave me a quick smile.

"Well let's just worry about that tomorrow. I'll get them later on." He said, grabbing my arm and dragging me to the sleeping bags on the floor.

"Sleep now."

Then he pushed me gently onto the sleeping bag, my back hitting the soft fabric. I could see that he wanted me to rest and stay safe but I refused to lie here like a princess and get everyone else to do the hard work.

I stood up and turned to face him. My face only inches from his. His eyes were full of concern, tiredness and something else, he kind of looked like he was wanting something. They then flickered to my lips and back to my eyes.

"I am not sitting around while everyone does everything." I said, my voice clear and loud.

H grabbed my shoulders and his cheeks turned a red colour and he leaned forward but I quickly backed away.

"H! What are you doing?"

He looked up at me and blushed, a darker shade of red.

"I'm sorry, I got light headed," he said, his voice breaking on the sorry, "You can help out, sorry for making you sit around."

Then he walked off, his hands in his pants pockets, body slouched and his head down. What was going on, everyone was acting so weird. Especially me.

That night we had locked all the doors and put our supply everyone gathered in groups on the floor. Rationing out the food for tonight, we ate, and then we slept. I was next to H, who was the one closest to the door. I was intended to sleep there but he refused in case someone attacked me. When he said that, he had nearly said again, like he knew what happened outside. I had let it go.

Now I could hear everyone's breathing. it was quiet and peaceful. I was the only one awake and I didn't feel like sleeping. So I laid their just looking at the ceiling, in the warmth's of the sleeping bag.

I heard a low rustle outside and I got out of the warmth and comfort to find myself opening the sliding door. My bare feet slapping softly against the concrete path outside. I looked into the woods and heard nothing. Maybe it was my imagination.

I was about to walk into the building again and the lock the doors, and I know I should have. but I felt the urge to go and sit on the bench just a few meters away from me. Underneath a statue of our towns founder.

The wooden boards were cold and moldy underneath my bare legs. My pj shorts just riding up my thighs. I held my arms tightly, as the wind blew gently. It was like ice and I winced. Then I felt a jacket wrapped around my shoulders and I turned to my right to find the .

"I'm back." He said.

"I can see that." I replied, chuckling under my breath.

He looked at me and his eyes glanced, just longer than a second I felt comfortable with, at my bare legs. He smirked quickly and then looked me in the eyes again.

I should of walked away and gone back inside, leaving him. but I was drawn to him, as if I was the metal and he was the magnet. There was no way to fight the connection I was having. I just wanted to be near him and I longed for him but I had just met him and that was the one thing that stopped me from doing anything crazy.

"Why are you alone outside at a time like this?" He asked, his voice wavering with concern.

"Because I felt drawn here and I couldn't sleep," I said, rubbing my eyes, "Why are you here?"

"I was drawn here and I wanted to see you again." He said, straight up the truth.

I stood up, shaking my head and throwing my arms into the air, "This is crazy, you attack me, then you're telling me I'm your mate and I don't even know your name!"

His jacket had fallen off my jacket but I hadn't noticed in my protest until I found myself shaking. He stood up, walked to where I was stood shivering and wrapped his arms around me. I felt good, safe and warm, a part of me wanted to stay like that until I realised I barely knew him.

I pushed him away and I could feel Fern howling inside my head. It burned and I felt lost and empty without the touch of him. I knew he felt the same, I could just see his facial expression with the only light from the moon.

"Aden."

I looked at him, puzzled, "What?"

"My name... is Aden."

My heart fluttered and raced, hearing his name made me nervous but excited. Maybe it was me too but it was definitely Fern too. She was howling and whining in my brain and I could feel her longing to meet his wolf but I didn't want to change right now.

"Your wolf?" I ask, because I couldn't cope with Fern's yowling breaking my mind.

"Ah, Leo. He's a dark black mutt," He wiggled his eyes at me but I knew it was really for Fern, "Yours?"

"She's called Fern." That was all I said, I wasn't saying anything else about her.

He raised an eyebrow at me and made a hand gesture for me to carry on but I shook my head.

"It's a surprise." I sighed, suddenly feeling very tired.

He gave me a big cheeky smile and I felt my heart melt.

"Well tomorrow night, this time and this place, we'll go for a run in the forest and our wolves can meet."

I nodded slightly and gave a small but tired smile.

"Una, you need to sleep now. I want you to be your best tomorrow for your friends and for Fern."

He walked over to me and kissed my forehead, "Goodnight."

Then he ran into the forest and out of sight. A few seconds later I heard the howling of his wolf and Fern quietly howled back. Where his lips had been moments before on my forehead tingled and my insides were all warm and mushy.

It was weird, I only met him but since he was my mate, I had to be attracted to him and he was so genuine and nice that I could see myself falling for him. I already thought I was.

I walked inside again and locked the door silently behind me. Then I slipped into my sleeping bag and was able to close my eyes and fall asleep. The last thing on my mind was his lips on my forehead and his soft voice saying 'goodnight'.
